I had the most frustrating experience trying to schedule an appointment here. Nobody answered the phone, which is understandable in a small salon, but after leaving a few voicemails over the course of a week (detailed with my name, number, and service requested) I never received a call back. I went on their website where I saw they accept walk-ins- great! So I stopped by one weekday afternoon and saw a big sign on the front door that also indicated walk-ins were welcome. Upon entering the salon, I noticed it was totally dead. This was during peak COVID, and a stylist came out from the back not wearing a mask. I asked if she had time for a walk-in haircut, but she said no. Okay, how about a quick bang trim? Still no, due to COVID restrictions, she said. Well can I book an appointment for now? Still no. I was a bit irritated that I had wasted my time stopping in for a service that was no longer available. I politely suggested that if their policy was to refuse all walk-ins, they should remove the "walk-ins welcome" signage from their website and door. I was rudely told that "COVID will be over soon" so there was no need to update the signage. Uhm, well....it's many months later we're just now seeing restrictions loosened. Her attitude was very dismissive. Also, if you're going to blame COVID for refusing to accommodate new customers, how about you wear a freakin' mask?! Very unwelcoming and unprofessional.

I had been very frustrated with my last hairdresser because I would go home and have to try to fix it myself. Anyway, it was such a pleasure go to Panache and get an excellent cut, Caitlin knows hair. I am so happy with the cut that she gave me, and my husband came with me and sat and had a glass of wine while she was cutting my hair. My husband had just had his hair cut earlier in the day and when I looked at it, I told him it looked like a bad cut. The last time he had a haircut I had to fix it. Caitlin kindly said she was happy to take a look my husband's hair and she recut his hair and it looks wonderful now. I couldn't believe the holidays in his hair. He really had gotten a wham bam haircut! Caitlin will be our new hairdresser for both of us and we're very happy to have found her again. The location on Pier 39 is also very sweet because it's very quiet and nice out there. You don't have to fight the downtown homeless people to get to your appointment. I've know Moira for over 5 years. Personally, over the years she has given my hair and persona so much style and flavor! I've never met someone so attentive, honest, inventive, and true to how I wanted my hair to look. Moira is the only person I trust with my hair, specifically with my bangs. As a woman with fine, straight hair it's challenging to get the frame just right for my face. I don't know if it's geometry, physics or pure eyeballing but she always gets the calculation perfectly! *chefs kiss* Moira has done everything from balayage, cuts, colors, highlights to hair extensions on me.
