She really knew what she was talking about in regards to hair type and what was needed to freshen up and make my curls healthier. Very comfortable to talk to. She was flexible and scheduling around my work hours and this I really appreciate. Unbelievable how soft my hair was with just a blow dry. Ever since I moved back to Orange County a year ago I have been on an endless search for a trusted hair stylist. Up to this point and with the exception of a haircut out-of-state, I've been met with less than stellar results - at one instance at a nearby salon, I was told, "We'll get it right the next time" and that was the second visit! That is, until I found Split Ends Salon. I made it a point to stick to a privately owned and operated salon as I always appreciated the level of service and care it offers. I scoured the area and took a chance on Split Ends Salon based on all the five-star reviews it received. The glowing reviews came from both newcomers and lifelong clients - these were all great signs! After perusing the reviews, I sent a message to inquire about a last minute availability for a haircut and shave. I was pleased to receive a quick response from Jennifer who addressed all my questions and able to accommodate a last minute appointment. Upon arrival, I was met by Jennifer who was extremely personable and knowledgeable. The salon itself was immaculate and well appointed. It was evident how Jennifer took pride in her establishment. Before she began, she took the time to not only get an idea of what I wanted done but also identified how the previous salons had fallen short. This was refreshing and further assured me that I made the right decision. During the haircut she was thorough and meticulous - pausing in order to address various aspects before proceeding. By the time it was all done it came out perfectly. During the conversation, I discovered that Jennifer is also an instructor at a beauty college which further explained her thoroughness and abilities. The straight razor shave was definitely worth writing home about as well. The shave was precise and made for a relaxing experience. We all know that teens can be VERY picky when it comes to their hair. After a previous disastrous cut elsewhere and three months of regrowth, we finally found Jennifer of Split Ends. She promised to carefully walk my son through a consultation before his haircut. After a bit of research, I felt very confident in her years of experience, and the fact that she also teaches at a school of cosmetology made this fellow educator even more optimistic for a good outcome. Jennifer was fabulous in every way! She made sure my son agreed with each step, stopping many times to monitor his thoughts on the progress, and of course, she kept plenty of length so that he could feel it and decide when he was ready to stick with the length. She also gave him helpful drying and styling tips so that Mom would not later hear the dreaded "I can't make it look the same again" come tomorrow. Jennifer followed up by text later that evening, and I filled her in on my son's comment upon leaving the salon when he immediately said, "Put me on the books!!". Any parent of a teenager will agree that a positive review from a TEEN counts as at least five regular ones!
