have never been so offended. regular shopper there, even though staff is less than friendly, the prices are ok & the location is convenient for me. there is a sign posted in the front window that states "WE MATCH ALL COUPONS" well, Canal's in Glassboro emails me coupons every month or so, today I printed them out and went to Spirits Warehouse to do some shopping. I chose to use a coupon that offered "$5 off a $50 purchase" I had about $52 worth of merchandise in my cart and at checkout was told by the cashier that a bottle of rum would not count towards the $50 I needed to spend because it was on sale. "so, sale items don't apply if you're using a coupon?" I asked. she responded in a very sarcastic manner "well, YEAH" like this was common knowledge and I was some kind of moron. I told her that I still wanted the rum, and would just go pick out more stuff, which I did, I had about $80 worth of goods in my cart when she came up to me and said "I can't take this coupon because my manager says it is fake" these were her exact words. I said I wanted to speak to whoever said that & followed her to the front.A very short man eventually came out and I told him the coupon was emailed to me by Canals & I showed him the entire print-out from which I cut out the $5 coupon. I then told him I was very offended they would accuse me of fabricating a phony coupon just to save a crappy $5. He said "I never said it was fake" I then told him that those were the exact words his cashier used, and was he saying she lied, or just made it up that the manager told her this. He had no answer, and started to mumble & stutter. I then suggested that they call Canals & ask them if this was not indeed a coupon they emailed to customers, he said "well, we cant take this coupon because it isn't legal, if you have a % off coupon, we could take that". I then told him that the fact that they would accuse me of making a fake coupon to save $5, when I am a regular customer, ask your cashier behind me...I am in here at least twice a week & spend a decent amount of $ every month (good wine & higher end beer & liquor) I then told him is it really worth losing a good customer over accusing her of making up a phony $5 coupon. He had nothing to say except that he "didn't mean to offend me" I left my full cart right where it was and walked out, never to return, I will most definitely tell everyone I know ( and that's alot of people) not to shop there. read more
