Meant to buy more but I got turned down from trying something, that my 2step Kids were literally just tasting, because "they were out" which was a bold lie since I could see the bottle right there! The older woman was horrible. A liar and a really bad salesperson. The younger woman was amazing and I wish I knew her name to give her credit where credit is due. So I wanted to buy 2 other bottles (at least) but since I was outside and upset, no one remembered what I wanted. The older saleswoman lost them some money! We arrived from our flight without luggage (having to wait on the next flight to bring it) so we went to town & shopped (in comfy clothes). I loved the look of this store & wanted to purchase items to bring home but the lady working was extremely rude (she had short hair and an accent, didn't sound northern nor southern; maybe out of country). She was so rude that I told my family we were exiting the store right then so stop looking or considering a purchase. I normally handle rudeness ok but to be treated as if I wasn't good enough to be in the store was unacceptable for me. My husband and I were strolling around the area, and I spotted Spirits & Spice. The storefront looked interesting to me - like a Jackson Hole souvenir shop - so we popped in to check it out. It honestly ended up being much better than I expected. Spirits & Spice offered samples of various types of spirits and liqueur flavors and blends. I got a big sweet tooth, so I tried samples that tasted like coffee cake, s'mores, banana fosters, rose petal, tart cherry, Andes' mint, watermelon jolly ranger (blend of 3 flavors), espresso martini (blend of 2 flavors). I was blown away by how spot on the flavors were. I got several bottles of the $46 sized bottles, which I felt made as great gifts to my friends... and myself of course. The Andes mint, rose petal, and tart cherry were all mine! The icing on the cake was that Spirits & Spice offered free shipping after spending a certain threshold. Though we spent our time trying only the alcohol, my husband and I plan to be back during our trip to try their balsamic vinegars and olive oils. Lastly, shoutout to Jimmy, who was our sales guy. And to think we almost didn't go in here! Walking by, I questioned whether this was one of those typical touristy olive oil and vinegar tasting operations, but it was truly one of a kind. We tasted several unique liqueurs and ended up buying 3 of them. The lovely lady who assisted us shipped them to us in California for free. Spirits and spice and everything nice! This place is unlike any other kind of foodie store that I've ever been in. The idea with this shop is that every flavor can be tweaked, added to, improved with macerating the item on herbs and spices, or aging it somehow. This shop has applied this principle to liquor, salts, oils, vinegar, and other cooking ingredients. They have a good selection of liquor, but none of it is the typical brands that you see in your local liquor store. Instead, they've done things like aged the whiskey on Madagascar cinnamon to make their own version of Fireball, or added vanilla to the bourbon. They hand bottle all of their spirits, and have them in beautiful displays. They have cooking oils, which smell divine. You can get spices here, but they're mostly spice blends, and not the original ingredients. You can get your own saffron back home- they have their own regional blends. The clerks are quick to help, answer all the questions, and even pour samples! You can tell that they're really into what they do here. They seem to genuinely enjoy playing with liquor and oils and vinegar all day! I would too! The prices are higher than if you just went to The Liquor Barn back home, but this is hand crafted, highest quality infusions and tinctures, and you can tell each bottle is painstakingly made individually. The bottles are hand-lettered, and simply beautiful alone. If you're just looking for a flask of rye whiskey to down outside the Million Dollar Cowboy Saloon, this isn't the place to go. Such a broad selection of both spirits and spices. A truly flavor-filled store. We were fortunate enough to stop in when they had multiple pours happening. A local Wyoming whisky, that tasted a bit more like a bourbon, a gin pour, and a wine tasting of reds and whites. I tried the reds and the sparking dessert wine. they were featuring an incredibly delicious $50 French bottle. Now that is not something you see everyday! I took a photo of it. It also had a great story about the pope that the pourer regaled us with. The number of samples of liquors, vinegars, oils & seasonings seemed countless. We picked up a small bottle of incredibly delicious tumeric salt. "Perfect for a golden milk" as told to me by the cashier. We sprinkled a bit on our instapot meal the other night and it was a wonderfully flavorful tip off but we both agree, this salt is equivalent to gold. It's that delicious. I lamented that I lived in NJ and only had a carry-on so I would not be able to purchase anything, They then told me they ship so I bought the 3 bottles pictured they told me if I bought $150 it would be free shipping. So i purchased the bottles gave my info went back to my hotel. about an hour later I get a call that the Huckleberry Vodka can not be shipped because the store is low on the supply?????? It's a little bit of a weird combination, but somehow it works. The person who was helping us was helpful but not super friendly which made me not want to try a lot of different types since I didn't feel super welcomed. I tasted some of the flavored vodka and would have tried more if I felt like it was a fun atmosphere. It was a little stuffy so I didn't feel totally at ease. The retro fridges that hold their beer are really cute. I don't see myself visiting this place super often even if I lived in the area, but it's a good place to find a gift or try something new. read more

Spent about $500 on this store including shipping alcohol to a friend who's a influencer in the food space for his wedding. I emphasized how important it was to write a nice note to my friend since it was for his wedding. I was reassured it would be sent. Basically, they spelled my friends name wrong and it messed up the surprise bc you get one chance to send a nice wedding gift. Went back and forth with the store manager a lot and never got any follow up. I had to call myself a few times only to hear they couldn't do anything about it. Disappointed by what otherwise was a good experience. Super helpful staff. A huge selection of amazing balsamic vinegars. I settled on a super thick balsamic for salad and a bottle of the hickory smoked balsamic. I was in a hurry so did not do much shopping, but I think it was the best stop in our short visit to Jackson. Also, you can pick up Grand Teton distillery spirits. If you cannot make it to their tasting room, do try it here. The huckleberry infused vodka is amazing, and their 375ml vodkas in metal sports bottle with carabiner makes a unique gift. read more

FANCY! I came in the shop mostly out of curiosity and still managed to leave with some delicious garlic olive oil and red wine vinegar. The staff is very friendly and happy to give you samples. I tried a pumpkin seed oil that was out of this world! They have a bottle refill program. This means that if it's your first time buying something (or a tourist like 90% of us here), you will have to purchase the bottle on top of purchasing the oil and vinegar. I live about four hours away and come to Jackson a couple times of year, so I plan to keep my bottles and just bring them for a new flavor each time. It will be a fun tradition. They also have liquors, but I didn't try any of those. Many of them were very expensive. You could definitely get some awesome gifts here. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon while killing some time, my interest piqued by the name, but without any knowledge of their product selection. Despite my admission that the whiskeys were out of my price range, the staff was willing to discuss the whiskeys and offer samples. I will start with, the people who work in here are very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The reason I'm not giving this store 5 stars is the price on what we paid for Tequila. We like The Grand Mayan. We buy The Grand Mayan usually for about $90 for 750ml bottle. Spirits & Spice sells the same bottle for $180 for the same size bottle. I know things tend to be a little more expensive in Jackson but this is ridiculous. We bought 2 bottles. I thought for sure they charged us incorrectly so I went back in to check, no, that really was the price, double. Shame on me for not paying attention at the point of sale. We just bought the 1.75 liter bottle for $200 (same, The Grand Mayan) , not in Jackson, a little more than double the size than the bottle in Jackson, but for approx the same price. I enjoy going in the store but couldn't go back in because this is not right. read more

Horrible experience. I grew up in the area and was visiting with my family and partner for Christmas Eve. Seemed like a really cool place with a great vibe until I interacted with an employee... My dad just tried two samples of whisky to decide which to buy when I came up to hear more about the different varieties of whisky. I'm not well-versed with whiskey and was excited to learn more, and perhaps sample and buy some. However, when I asked if it would be okay to try a sample, I was rudely told that samples are for customers who buy things and that they would prefer to not have just anyone try their products. They could have been more blunt and just said that they don't give samples at all. It was a very awkward experience for me and my family. I've traveled across the United States and have been outside the country on numerous occasions and this is the first time I've had such a horrible experience. Often when I'm visiting such places I end up buying products just for the experience. I'm an adult in my early 30's, a professor at a university, and have never been treated so poorly. If you want to reinforce poor customer service then come here; else, go to one of the many other amazing places in the area with staff who know how to better interact with customers and I'm sure have as good, if not better, products. read more

My wife and I stumbled across Vom Fass after seeing their advertisements on the local Jackson cable TV advertising station in The Wort Hotel. After meeting Theo and sampling some of their fare, we purchased some "Outryder" Wyoming Whisky and a bottle of their Latte Mocaciatta. Theo worked took great care of us during our stay and very helpfully arranged shipping of those items to our home in Washington state. One thing, tho- when I purchased, I immediately received a text and an email telling me of my purchase, but I never received the tracking number for the shipment. It's ok- it arrived today and all is well, but with package theft pretty rampant these days, it would have been nice to get that tracking number so I could make sure that I could be home to receive the package. Other than that, my wife and I are thrilled with the quality of the items we purchased as well as the service we received. We'll be back on our next trip to Jackson. read more

Literally stumbled into this place after a long hard morning of skiing and was thrilled beyond my wildest imagination. Delightful store located upstairs on the "quad" in downtown Jackson, WY- the most charming village set in a backdrop that takes your breath away - winter or summer this town is a treat and this shop is a perfect fit. Spirits and Spice is a phenomenal combination of amazing exotic spice blends, imported spirits and olive oils from all over the world. They bottle it and market it themsleves,. Scotch, Cognac, Whiskey, Gin, Rum, Tequila, authentic Irish Moonshine, and on and on. You can sample them all and have them shipped home. The Gin, Irish Moonshine and Tequila were the 3 I tried and was blown away by the depth of flavor and uniqeness. The oils are equally out of this planet, my personal favorite is Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil -so nutty, rich, flavorful, you can't get this anywhere, well they get it from Austria so I guess you can get it there - I am speechless to describe the amazingness correctly. Did I mention the vinegars? My favorite is the White Huckleberry, made in the USA! Not only can you taste everything, but they have local wine selections for tasting as well. I picked up 2 bottles of the Jackson Hole Pinor Noir - which is delicate and complex. One of the best Pinots I have ever tried. This place is like Disney World for the pallette. Every spice you can imagine - I liked the Tumeric Salt - there are literally 50 of everything to taste! You could easily spend a few hours here, so come when you have the time to really enjoy it. I've been to specialty Vinegar and Oil stores before but Vom Fass has unique flavors that I haven't seen before, plus they have specialty spices and will have flavored liquor, cognacs and whiskeys (they just opened and are waiting for their liquor license, which is a bummer because the set-up for that portion of the store looks interesting and I am a fan of distilled beverages). The employees are nice and personally escort you around the store for taste tests of individual products and combinations of oil and vinegar. I tried a Calamansi' Waldburg Balsam Vinegar- white in color and sweet, almost not a vinegar, my favorite. Cherry Waldburg Balsam- tart, vinegary and rich flavored. I tried a Basil Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a Rosemary Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which were also tasty. Depending on what you purchase and the size of the container you purchase (there's a selection of glass bottles ranging in price that you have to buy initially but are free to refill), can range from about $7 to +50. This place is a great place for people who like something not found on market shelves. read more
