Cody, and his wife Karen,…read morewere really knowledgeable throughout this SUP trip about anything paddleboarding, about the river, how the company came to be and its name (it's "just Mountain Standard Time"), etc. He has tours almost year round from snowshoeing/ brewery, mountain biking, birding, and photography tours. Because of traffic, we left the parking lot about 6:15 am and returned just after 11. The water levels were low, but the SUP's did just fine in most areas. The cost of the trip was definitely worth it. We had about 14 in our group. And since the tour was only running the first week of balloon fiesta, it sold out less than a week after being advertised and I didn't get a chance to ask others if they wanted to go as well (but it was totally fine solo and everyone was friendly and welcoming). I didn't want to get wet, so I didn't try standing up for a first timer, but I feel like this trip gave me more courage to try standing next time and trying something new. The highlight of the trip was being able to see a few balloons splash n'dash. Also, Cody and Karen arranged a nice little setup with a paddleboard balanced on two buckets with a tablecloth over for a little breakfast of mimosas, a fire for s'mores, assorted granola bars, and hot water in a thermos for hot chocolate and coffee while we waited and watched for the balloons. In summer, the waters are low, so not much speed and more rock to avoid, but the guides are amazing and know the waters well. There were plenty breaks in between mini thrills, which made it perfect for beginners. Dan offered patience, humor, and history as we rafted and as long as we worked together and followed his directions, we were good. The opportunity to get out of the raft to swim and rock jump, was a nice treat. River adventures were organized, which made the experience easy and fun! A great water activity for families with all ages.

We went on the Race expedition which was easy enough for novices but thrilling enough for the adventurers. My 76 yr old dad has balance issues and fell out but Ben quickly got him back in. He got a little scraped up and Ben handled it professionally and calmly, minimizing the inconvenience of having to do some first aid on the river but taking it seriously enough to provide care. He rearranged the seating somewhat and there were no other scares. He was a truly fantastic guide.

We booked for 3 hours (3:30-6:30pm), which turned out to be the perfect amount of time. The harbor is beautiful, and it was so much fun cruising around and checking out all the homes. We even got lucky and spotted two dolphins! The meeting location was easy to find, though keep in mind that parking is only available along PCH. Highly recommend!
