THis store is great but it needs clowns and i will soon graduate from Janine's University Devoted to the Up Keep of Clowns and the Mad Cap Hecklers That Roast Them, also known as UDUKCMCHTRT. I went in here not expecting spirits but atleast a clown. No Janine. Janine is the best clown of all time and ordered a truck of clowns to teach me how to hop on one foot. One day i'll not be attacked by the neighbors dog and it will be because of Janine. Janine is the clownest clown that ever clowned. Her son, Young Chap Number 1, is the jester i aspire to be. Hopefully i can be like him by next Spook season. As long as i get a job being a clown at Valentino's i'll be a happy flying monkey. Maybe i can then be the official clown of spirit and can order in the Bill Nye Science Guy makeup and May Run make up. I would love to teach people the ways of the clown. read more

Employees here are real effing assholes. I don't know if it's because the Huskers lost last night or something, but you can't ask a simple question without getting a freaking teenage-like attitude from 40-somethings. I'm from Reno, NV, and employees at Halloween Spirit stores were 20x more friendly and helpful compared to Lincoln. One of the bigger employees, a male with long hair, acted like a complete child when I asked if they had a certain mask available (I already looked on the wall beforehand). I think it's because my friend and I interrupted his conversation with another co-worker. But basically his tone of voice was like, almost yelling at me, to see if I checked the wall. I explained, and then he storms off to the area and finds the mask. Many other employees before him were even all annoyed when I asked a simple question, such as an older woman behind the front desk. She also screeched at everyone in line that we "needed to do a better job lining up for purchases". Really? How about, "everyone, please line up to each register so we can get to you as quickly as possible". Basically, nobody wants to be bothered with you, and they act like they own the world when they don't. To the manager: whoever is working this year, please don't rehire these hooligans again for the sake of your customers. read more

Tried to call to ask what their hours were and they put me on hold for 5 minutes. I decided to hang up and call back, and instead I got a busy signal because they must have left their hand held on. Very unprofessional and a pain for such a simple question. Probably will not be doing my shopping at the establishment. read more

Bought a strobe lightbulb on Oct. 14 at the Lincoln, Neb. story. It did not work when we got home. Tried to exchange it Oct. 19, but the store clerk would not allow the exchange. He said I'm stuck with it and should have tested it before I left the store. When I pointed out that there was no place to test a light bulb, he just shrugged his shoulders. Also, when we checked out on Oct. 14, the clerk (same guy who denied the return) said he never explains the return policy because it's not his responsibility and he likes to say no to people when they try to make exchanges/returns. Class organization for sure. From now on, we won't be shopping at Spirit Halloween or it's owner Spencer Gifts. read more

This store's policy of not accepting returns after 10/18/13 is unacceptable and poor service to customers. I was charged for a product and noticed the error right away. When I communicated this with the manager I was told that refunds were not accepted no matter what. I was mistaken and took 4 picture frames instead of two, as they were stuck together. When I noticed this mistake, and tried to communicate this with the manager, I was basically told to just go away and accept my mistake. The manager talked down to me and she did not offer any explanation for their store policy. They just want your money and for you to go away. Poor service, poor customer care. read more

Worst experience ever! I asked the girl at the front counter if I bought the dog costume and walked out to my car to try it on him if I could return it and she said yes....Then when I came back in they said they couldn't!!! Mind blown. Wil never shop there again horrible customer service. read more

I have experienced totally the same thing with other people. They just want all your money, you can easily get trapped. They are not negociatable and rediculuous. Their manager is rude and bad mannered. They were not accepting my return after 1 day later, and nobody noticed me, unacceptable! I did not get a solution here, so I filed a complaint to BBB, it really works! They finally refund me all the money, But This company is REALLY SUCKS! AVOID AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! read more
