An incredibly dangerous, disorganized, incompetent clinic run by a lazy doctor and a worthless nutritionist. A terrible, downright painful experience with them that will lead me to file a complaint with the Colorado Medical Board. The amount of pain I've endured from the medication I was prescribed here is outrageous.
What's especially concerning here is that the doctor delegated a decision to increase my medication dosage to the nutritionist, who is NOT a doctor -- and that third dosage led to SEVERE problems for me.
First off, bear in mind that you do NOT get branded Ozempic or Wegovy here. What you get is compounded medication. That's fine -- IF everything is done right. But what was not verbally disclosed to me until several weeks after I started taking the off-brand Ozempic is that a compounding pharmacy medication only has to be 75% similar to the original medication. I did not know that, and when I learned that, it was very concerning to me because I know how powerful the medication is; it's not be monkeyed around with. Had I known that right away, I would have NEVER taken the medication -- especially in light of the incredible problems I had with it later. Because this was not verbally disclosed to me, I do not feel that I could provide informed consent to the medication the doctor prescribed to me.
Second, the doctor here -- Dr. Crystal Dickerson -- was not remotely helpful and did little more for me than prescribe medication and try to sell me vitamins. She started me off with one dose, and then she increased the dosage once. The increase to the third dosage was something that the nutritionist -- and not Dr. Dickerson -- authorized, as I had not met with Dr. Dickerson prior to going on this third dose. I don't know how a nutritionist is authorized to make a decision like that.
When I received that third dosage, I began experiencing incredible gastrointestinal issues -- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constant stomach pains. I had an appointment that was allegedly with Dr. Dickerson, and I planned to address these issues. When I came in, I was told I would not be meeting with her -- even though that's whom I was scheduled with -- and instead would be meeting with the nutritionist. Basically, I was lied to -- and I desperately needed a doctor. When I told the nutritionist -- who at no point has ever provided any remotely useful information -- that I was in great pain and needed to see my doctor, he told me how busy she was and I would have to wait for an appointment at another time. That was ridiculous -- I had specifically scheduled an appointment WITH HER. It was only after I expressed my displeasure to the nutritionist that I had been lied to and denied a visit with my medical doctor that I was finally able to meet with her. She wasn't busy; she was eating lunch.
When I did meet with her, she was rude, repeatedly interrupted me, was defensive and acted inconvenienced -- even though I was supposed to have the appointment WITH HER -- and tried to explain to me that the clinic was not set up for patients to meet with her regularly.
Well, then, what in the world is the point of going to see a doctor? Apparently, Dr. Dickerson believes that her role is just to write a prescription, have her nutritionist oversee the dosage of that prescription after the initial two doses -- and then be hesitant to meet with you when there are problems.
Ozempic/Wegovy medications are incredibly powerful and come with side effects. When there are problems, it's important to have a doctor who is attentive, caring and diligent. That is not the experience I had at this clinic and with Dr. Dickerson -- and I would not recommend that anyone go to this clinic under any circumstances.
