Dr. Fisher and Dr. Farrell are excellent, thorough, and congenial. They are always willing to answer questions about my condition and treatment, and the answers are always framed in real-world, common-sense terms. The first time I went for chiropractic treatment, I was skeptical. I had heard absurd claims made in the name of chiropractic, and I didn't want to end up in some sort of mystical cult that claimed it could cure pneumonia by twisting my neck. I also didn't want to have my neck broken, or enter a program of treatment that was designed to extend my condition for profit rather than actually improving my condition. Dr. Fisher sat with me for a very long time, discussing the relationship between having back pain and sleeping, for example, and pointing out that I was less likely to get ill if sleeping properly every night. He took X-Rays, which we looked at together, and we discussed exactly how certain configurations of my spine were causing specific types of pain. We discussed how rapid weight gain had put more strain on my back than my back muscles could hold up without pain. Finally, we discussed how to go about fixing it. The plan involved initially getting me able to stand up straight again, and very soon thereafter incorporated a strength-training regimen designed to strengthen my back muscles to accommodate my new weight. Longer term goals included gradual weight loss to relieve some of the pressure on my back. At every point, I understood exactly what we were doing, and I understood exactly why, and Dr. Fisher made me feel confident that it would work, which it did. When I moved to Cambridge in 2015, I was waiting tables in Boston to make ends meet and really screwed up the alignment of my shoulder and ribs. Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, I made an appointment with Dr. Herrmann and explained my pain and my concerns. She explained how cracking the spine is not the best practice, and that she uses Soft Tissue Mobilization to realign the spine. After the first visit my pain had lessened greatly, and after the 2nd visit I was almost back to normal! (It took 3 visits to heal the shoulder completely.) Dr. Kelvin Bullock is a breath of fresh air.  He is young, educated and thoughtful, and really took the time to listen to my health history, evaluate my needs, and offer insights to help me get better results. As a full-time single mom it has become common practice for me to have my daughter in tow at many if not all of my doctors appointments. He was so kind and friendly to her as well, immediately engaging her in friendly conversation and chatting her up the entire time which was such a welcomed relief, knowing I wouldn't have to manage her simultaneously. Not only did he see me on such short notice, listen attentively and cater his treatment to my specific needs while engaging my 6 year old daughter in conversation, he gave me what I'm confident in labeling as the best adjustment I've ever received. I haven't felt such deep and immediate relief in all of my years of receiving chiropractic care. It was incredible and immediate, and that night I had the best sleep I've had in years! I came to Dr. Shea with a nerve-related injury after struggling to self-diagnose and work effectively with a local PT. I'm a powerlifter and was experiencing a strange numbness that would only present itself under heavy loads and at key points in movements. I decided to visit a Chiropractor by recommendation of a PT friend (not the person treating me). I chose this particular practice because I felt that at a self-owned practice, the practitioner is highly encouraged to provide the utmost attention to detail -- and I was right. Unlike other visible injuries, we're constrained by what I choose to convey as a patient and Dr. Shea's ability to 'feel' out potential problem areas. I'm beyond grateful of our ability to hypothesize together, test, and focus in on the root cause. He's not the type to tell you to come back multiple times just to take your money. He knows what he's doing. I have had one or two adjustment each year because I'm super active. I usually hurt my back or my neck. This year I sprained my ankle really badly. I never had my ankle adjusted. I went to Dr. Flum and thought that it wouldn't work much because my pcp told me to just rest. I was limping for a month. So I decided to try Dr. Flum.
