The reason I mention this is because the staff does warn you several times not to cross a certain barrier which can happen due to the nature of the event and if you do, there could be a possible lawsuit, so I was very worried about the kids crossing that line, since it was a very tiny area, and very easy to do so on the other side of that line or other people, ice-skating, including children, so you really do have to be very very careful. I will say besides this, it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly. They took photos of my family and I, with all of us in the bumper cars and although they started late, they did give us a few extra minutes for the inconvenience. Once getting into the entrance it's very busy, especially since every transition (ticket purchases, choosing skates, and seating areas for trying on skates) is going on at once in one cramped space. The workers there were professional and quick to help us out when we needed to replace our ice skates with better ones, so that was one of the positives about my experience. After going on the ice I definitely noticed how choppy and uneven the ice was, we were skating for a long period of time and it took them a while to resurface the ice.

We found this through a Groupon and went with a group of 4. The concept is really fun! Throwing…read moresome small hatchets at wood targets- it's like a primal and aggressive dart game. Our Sunday group was a combination of a family of three, a mom and her young son and my group of 4 adults. The instructor had some excellent axe puns and humor- but his actual instruction was somewhat lacking. He never landed a single axe in the target during his demonstrations. The target area is a bit like a short archery range, two targets in each range and it had two ranges. It's a large fenced in area to prevent the occasional wild flying axe and a plywood back with more wooden targets overlaid on it with cement floors. We were instructed on how to do a two handed and one handed throw and then we played games to test our skills. I really did enjoy throwing an axe at some wood and that satisfying thud when I would land one in to the target. Overall I had a great time and I would love to go again with the right group of people. Things that disappointed me slightly were the axes themselves. They looked like inexpensive harbor freight hatchets that they didn't maintain or sharpen (hence the instructor not landing in the target when he demonstrated) The axes take a beating and when people are learning and they hit that cement floor- they get pretty banged up. I think they need to sharpen the ones they have or go out and get some new ones. The second thing that was mildly frustrating was the lack of food and beverages available. This is an athletic activity- you sweat, you move around. We did this for three hours and didn't have the opportunity to buy water. We had water in the car (thank goodness) but if you plan to do this grab a granola bar and some beverages. Ultimately I think this was a lot of fun - and I would love to do it again with a bit more planning and my group of friends.

In 20 years in the Air Force Reserve i have visited alot of bases stateside and overseas. One thing that has always been true, the bowling alleys are always busy and the food is always great. Stars and Strikes is no exception. If you are military, spouse, or have access to this place 25 minutes outside St Louis, it does not disappoint. I ordered a pitcher of Michelob Golden Light, which i have only ever had on an Air Force base. Its cold and a light beer with better than Bud Light or Lite flavor. My food was a hot ham and cheese add bacon. My order took about 5 minutes to prepare. The tator tots were really good and plentiful. I did not finish them all. My sandwich was tasty and filling with just the right amount of ham and cheese. I saw pizzas and other sandwiches people were dining on and they all looked great. If you are staying at Scott AFB, this is a good place to eat.
