One grilled cheese, my sandwich and my husband's. I ordered the rooster. It was ok. And tasted good. After lunch we ordered a child's ice cream- 1 scoop and two small over priced petite cake slices. The 20 min it took to get one scoop of ice cream is not worth the wait or drive. I wouldn't recommend coming out here. I'm sorry but waiting 20 min for one scoop is not it. The place wasn't packed at all. If I was told there would be a "wait" I would have just left.

This bakery has more or less of a home setting vibe and is in a small area, but there is space to move about and there are plenty of offerings: cakes, pies, doughnuts, jellies and jams; they even had farm fresh eggs at a great price. It's ran by the Amish and with that you're expected to experience certain things during your shop. For instance no electricity. It's pretty dim in here but there is a working light source. But we came for the doughnuts and ended up getting a variety of a half dozen of them. They were all delicious and fresh-which is what I appreciated the most. He pulled them right off the tray as I was calling out my choices. This was such a pleasant experience and it will easily become a go to for us when wanting to have a special treat-and I am for sure getting my eggs from more often.

They did not have any interior lights, or seating areas, so it is a take it and go type place. All of the food was made fresh by the local Amish. The place is CASH only, no cards. We ended up getting some donuts, a chocolate pie and a chocolate peanut butter brownie with marshmallow. They also appeared to have different types of pretzels, but we didn't see any signs for the cost of those. The chocolate pie was good, not overly sweet. The donuts and brownie were both very very rich, but delicious. I'm excited to visit again earlier in the day when they have more items in stock.

For me, I am a happy camper as long as an ice cream shop has vanilla, chocolate, cookies n cream, or mint chocolate chip...and The Ice Cream Place had those. :) *I"m pretty "boring" when it comes to my ice cream flavors.* Prices were a bit higher than I anticipated (especially since they don't post prices), but I think that's the way things go on the Boardwalk. I had no concerns reading the service and ambiance of the ice cream shop. Although The Ice Cream Place is worth a visit, especially if you have the young ones with you, I would not go too far out of my way to visit. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of ice cream.
