The company catch-phrase is "Where the fun begins" and although corny, it's pretty true.
Hours are by appointment only, but Bernie lives on site and is available practically any time that works for you. For our visit, he was happy to adjust not one but 2 trikes so they fit for a trial ride. We rode for like 20 minutes, and came back, then went out to try out another pair. The entire time Bernie was awesome and never pressured us to buy.
My first triking experience was super fun, but I went home to think it over. A fancy recumbent trike is a big purchase. Bernie just smiled when we left... I think he knew I'd be back. He was right, and I'm happy I did.
My only criticism is that Bernie only carries a few brands. I suspect this is linked to the small size of the shop, and is something I can live with. I'm very happy with my Trident Stowaway.
Who are trikes good for?
- Elderly people who dont feel confident balancing on bikes, or want the security of adding electric assist just in case
- People who never learned how to ride bicycles
- Disabled people who need modifications to ride. Bernie has put together hand bikes, and even a row bike for a customer with a serious disability
- People who think bikes are uncomfortable, or can't sit on them for long periods of time without pain
- People who want tons of compliments on their trike whenever they go out
