We had a nice little conversation about growing basil while they were pricing tubs of corn chowder. Dennis asked if we liked corn chowder and we said yes, so he told us he was giving us a tub of his to try cause it will be the best we ever had! While it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was pretty damn near close! The corn was great, the tomatoes were great, the squash was great! The pick your own blueberries were delightful! We will definitely be back again after a super experience! PS it's a little farther down the road than you think it will be, keep going... Trust me

I went back for more corn and they were all sold out way too soon. Next year, I buy earlier and more often! We tried one each of the available doughnuts: Plain, cinnamon sugar, and maple drizzle. All were fresh and warm and well worth the maybe 20-25 minute wait (and there was a guy singing/playing guitar for us, which was nice!). The dough was light and fluffy, rather than dense and cake-like, which was a positive for me. Our favorite was the maple drizzle, which wasn't overly sweet and added a nice subtle maple flavor. I also liked the cinnamon sugar, though it was quite sweet! The plain was good as it stripped away the accoutrements and allowed me to enjoy the crunch of the doughnut "crust".

The outdoor areas have some seating right against the store and tons more in the beer garden area. Greenhouses. A whole kid play area with toys, sandboxes, swings. Pretty sure it was the owner who took our orders in the cafe window. He was so sweet and struck up a conversation with us about whether we were visiting, local, etc. He noticed our baby and told us about their family nights with campfires and live music and kid games. The woman at checkout was also super nice when I bought a few store items. Food: GUYS. Simple but sooooo fresh and wonderful. We all loved it, even my picky MIL. We attended the Haunted Corn Maze again this year, it was fun, but there seemed to be fewer actors…read morethan in the past. This year they also had plastic snow fencing blocking off certain areas of the maze, a lot of them were falling down and partially in the maze walkways, causing a tripping hazard, ask me how I know! While we love to try new spooky things and also like to do things we know and love, I think we'll skip this one next year.
