The beet root tartae was tasty especially if you like beets. The other appetizer was the tuna but it was very small. Literally 2-3 bites and done. The entree we ordered was the cannoli. The sauce was a little too heavy but the noodles was nice and chewy. The bread was the best part of our meal. Price was little steep for the portion size, but would recommend future guests to eat here for a night snack vs a meal.

My brother also ordered the side salad, no choice of dressings but a nice size salad with a good variety of ingredients. I had the Thai-style caramelized pork, just the right amount of spice with a side of rice. Portion was big enough that I couldn't finish it. Brother had a beef with pasta in a cream sauce. He quite liked it and it was a nice-sized portion. Dad had the strip sirloin with fries. Steak was a bit small but there was a huge amount of French fries. Dad said it was good. He had some very good homemade ice cream for dessert. Only complaint was that the kitchen was very slow, despite the restaurant being nearly empty.

I like it when things look a little scruffy and this place sure do. Like a downtrodden cafeteria or a citizen's waiting room. The staff. Always ready to smalltalk and always providing that popular, folksy atmosphere that makes this place what it is. And, of course, the food. A place looking like this, you'd expect the food to be diner style or, worse, highway diner-style. But it's not. It's Michelin-worthy and places itself on your tongue like a soft cushion when you're at your most weary. It's like being home.

This cafe's menu items reminded me of a Whole Foods type of vibe, very healthy and fresh. I ordered both a savory potato type pastry that had a bit of a spice kick to it, and also a cardamom bun. I enjoyed both. I also ordered a fresh ginger and carrot juice since I felt slightly under the weather from traveling from Hawaii to Copenhagen. My cappuccino was excellent as well. Sundays they offer a special brunch menu where you select your entrees and side and it comes as a set meal. We came in early during a weekday morning and it was empty. But as we were leaving the place started getting very busy. Customer service was pleasant enough and our order came out quickly. In the short time that we were visiting Denmark, we visited Wulff og Konstali Food Shop twice! It's got a cozy ambiance, the cutest décors, and your seating options are either indoors at a long, communal table, or outdoors at picnic tables. The ordering process at Wulff og Konstali can be a bit overwhelming/confusing as there are no signage with instructions. After talking with some of the people already in line, we figured out what we needed to do: grab a table, pick up a Brunch sheet, fill it out, hop back into line, pay, and (not-so-patiently) wait for your food. The first time we visited was on a Wednesday, we stayed indoors, and we ordered two Brunches (one 5 pcs, one 7pcs). Together, we got to try 12 dishes: the Almond Croissant, the Danish Style Poppy Seed Croissant, 2 Fried Eggs, the Scrambled Eggs, the 1/2 Avocado with Sesame Seeds and Olive Oil, the Tomatoes with Olive Oil and Oregano, the Fruits of the Day, the Høost Organic Danish Cheese with Honey and Roasted Almonds, the Skyr (Organic Icelandic Yogurt) with Sea Buckthorn and Honey Roasted Spelt Flakes, the Fennel Salami with Pickled Fennel, the Smoked Salmon with Artichoke Cream and Dill, and the Vanilla Waffle with Salt Caramel and Freezedried Raspberries. My favorites were the Danish Style Poppy Seed Croissant and the Smoked Salmon with Artichoke Cream and Dill. The second time we came back, we were experts on what to do--we came on a Friday, and we opted to enjoy our food outside and bask in the sun. We ordered one Danish Style Poppy Seed Croissant and one coffee. Both were delicious and I made it a point to save half of the pastry for our flight home. Being on vacation with nothing else going on, we did not mind sitting outside for 90 minutes and having drinks on this beautifully warm July evening. Everything was excellent, in fact, including the service which may have been a little slow but again, I think that's just because we are used to the way things are in Chicago and wouldn't be considered slow for the rest of the world. We sat outside for drinks and then inside for our meal. Both seatings were very nice. The bill seemed a little pricey but I think that's typical of Europe in general. Everyone spoke English very well and the menu was easy to understand. Considering the quality of food, drinks, and service we received, it was worth the price. The location: The inside of the cafe is nice and spacious but if the sun's out, then probably it's better to sit outside on their large terrace out in the sun. The food: It was alright, they have most of the usual fare most brunch cafes have but their bacon was one of my favourites. It's not those thin bacon from supermarkets like sold in other brunch cafes, this is the real deal. The egg was a bit salty, but my favourite was the sweet potato with corn puree on the side. It was good! The service: Sweet and nice, but we had to wait for the food for quite awhile. I even had to wait for my coffee :( but that's because they were understaffed. Whoever the owner is, you need to staff the place more on busy weekends! I guess they don't really expect this place to be super popular now.
