When I started looking at the different flavors of ice cream and popsicles that are offered at this Mexican ice cream shop I was a little overwhelmed by how many different flavors that are offered that I've never heard of before.....mamey, what's that?!?! But I was overly excited when I saw that they had mangonada in popsicle form.....mango con chili!!! Before coming here, I honestly didn't know I was into popsicles until I had their popsicles. Their popsicles are really flavorful with lots of big chunks of fruit pieces! I'm a mangonada fiend and my favorite popsicle flavor of theirs is definitely their mango con chili. It has all the flavors that's in a mangonada in a popsicle form! Their strawberry cheesecake and mango ice cream tastes good too but their highlight for me is, you guessed it, their mango con chili popsicle! The ladies who work there are all really friendly and patient. Kind weird, but because I think they make their popsicles in house, for some odd reason they do not seal the popsicle packaging. Free parking at their parking lot is a plus!

You can also find savory food too. I'm a fan of the shepherd's pie. You will find them at red mountain kitchen but they also do pop-ups so I recommend following them on facebook. The owner is always ready to discuss the science behind sourdough and answer questions. That's how I found out shepherd's pie, the savory dish I love, is coming in January.

Once seated, food was out pretty quick. I really liked that each table gets a carafe of ice water, chips, refried beans sprinkled with cheese and some salsa. We ordered birria empanadas, chicken mole, El Jefe burrito with carne asada and birria. We ordered a traditional michelada and beer. The options for salsas is one several reasons I like it here. Between the mole, grilled jalapeño and house salsas the heat was ON!! You get a choice of flour or corn tortillas, I ordered corn and they were home made, what a treat! The venue itself is unique. Indoor seating is spacious and plenty but it's freezing so bring a sweater. There is an awesome patio with lots of seating if you bring kiddos. Our server was Lily she was overwhelmed but very sweet and checked on her tables often. The server/bus-boy, didn't catch his name was very efficient and cleared tables, sat patrons, and delivered the water, chips, beans and salsa which was nice to see. Prices are also great.
