An Indian restaurant with excellent food but a distinct lack of customers. I have taken many friends to this superb establishment and all have commented on how great the food is. The Pathia is to die for! Food taste and quality is always consistently good. The place is clean, friendly, has comfortable seating and has undergone some decor changes to improve the overall ambiance as it was a little stark. Why, you ask, if it's so good doesn't it have more customers? I think that there were a number of issues, most of which have been addressed but there are still a few niggles. There were problems with the speed of service if they were unexpectedly busy (2 hours on one occasion) and the lack of anything but basic decor. The music system used to jump tracks every time someone went into the kitchen and some of the waiters spoke little English. All of these have been resolved but the restaurant still lacks a little of the personal touch. You never get offered a free tipple on the house or coffee if you've spent a lot or are a frequent visitor and the obligatory hot towel is now a naff moist hygienically sealed paper tissue yuck! Don't let any of this put you off as the food more than makes up for any shortcomings and you definitely won't be disappointed. Part of me doesn't want the world to find out how good this place is as it means I won't be able to turn up and get a table without booking! read more
