An absolute peach of a restaurant and probably the best Indian restaurant in this entire region, now that several others have shut down completely and started getting bad ratings. The dishes are extremely super expensive for the quantity although everything tastes great and perfect. THE FOOD: We went in for lunch on consecutive days and tried out different items. We had Naan, Roti, Paneer Butter Masala, Veg Starters platter, Methi Mutter Paneer. Everything tasted so good. Everything costs ~ $20 as well and the breads were at $~$6 each. All of them tasted good and no issues. The starter platter was the pick although the quantity was very less for that price point again. Next day we tried Idly, Paneer Biryani and guess what the Paneer Biryani was so delicious and with mild spice it was perfect. It was well cooked and not much of random masala that will make the rest of your day bad. It came with a thick raitha which was decent in quantity. The Idly were a quick filler and Sambar was decent again. The price is the biggest concern here. I just hope they address it. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The restaurant was not so crowded by the time we went and staffs were courteous. Although not sure how they jumped into conclusion that every Indian who visits them speaks Hindi, and they start to converse without even asking if we understand. That behavior was kinda off. But the service was quick. We didn't wait much. The ambience was good as well. Clean toilets. BOTTOMLINE: A great restaurant if you are visiting Gatlinburg, Smoky mountains and the surroundings and craving for warm and appetizing Indian food. What an unexpected surprise in Pigeon Forge of all places. They have a "Vegetarian Menu" section of their menu where vegan options are further noted as "V". Gluten free is also noted, We got the Madu Vada, donut like savory appetizer which came with two vegan sauces. For our mains we got Aaloo Gobi Masala and Mixed Vegetable which both came with Basmati Rice. Also included in the order was Tandoori Roti (not gf) They have "Today's Special Dosa's" (not everyday, if they do, a menu for them will be on the table). We've been twice so far and once they had them and once they did not. We've had the same server both times and he is very knowledgeable in vegan accommodations and ensures our meals, including sauces and the like are vegan for us. On our last visit, he gave us a dessert "on the house" and rushed back to tell us it wasn't vegan because it had butter or ghee in it and whisked it away. He offered us a free coke in its place, but we politely declined. We have 1st gen Indian friends who have trained us on Indian food, and the food is very traditional and delicious. The spice level is just right, but if you're not used to he heat in Indian food, you may want to request a lower spice level. BE CAREFUL when you pay! Tip is set to almost 25% even if you choose another option in the payment terminal. 25% was not even an option in the terminal. The highest tip option was 22%. I went back to fix it and they double charge me the tip. I had to go a second time to get the first tip back. Made me waste time while traveling. They know the device is doing that. We ate a lot of Indian food and this place was pretty good in comparison to many of the others and that's around the globe from New Jersey to India to Sri Lanka to London and all over including the food we make at home. I wouldn't say it was the best but it was pretty good. We went for Gobi Manchurian and Pollock paneer along with a garlic naan. The non didn't have its usual crispiness and there wasn't as much garlic as we are used to but it was still pretty good. As with some of the other commenters, the prices were pretty high we felt. This is a heavy tourist area at a touristy time of year so I guess some of that is to be expected. This restaurant saved us after leaving Dollywood late as they were open until 10pm. Despite still being packed at 9:30pm, they snuck us in on a table for two. They were also very busy with takeout orders. We enjoyed Chicken Kodai, Mixed Veg and Mango Lassis. One word-delicious! We got several different dishes including the Gobi Manchurian, Chicken 65, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Saag Paneer. We also got garlic naan and butter naan, which was very good. The Tikka was super flavorful and probably the best Tikka we have had and we have had a lot of varieties. The saag was different than we are used to, as the paneer was mixed within vs larger pieces, but still very good. Our favorite was the gobi Manchurian, which was absolutely amazing. The servers were friendly and although it is a small place within a complex, it is right along a creek with a lot of windows. The portions were reasonable but the flavors were hit or a miss. The food might seem okay to someone who enjoys Indian food once in a while, but overall flavors were lacking especially for people who grew up in India and eat Indian food often. The worse: Management/Owners. Management seemed to be in a rush to make people leave even while they're in middle of their meal. No one likes a rushed meal, least when you're paying ~$50 per person. Tip: Never ever rush a mom trying to feed her kid, that too when there are tables empty for any new customers that walk in.
