Having visited a…read morefew times, whether for birthdays, anniversaries, or just for somewhere to grab a quick bite and drink, I have never been disappointed. From the main, side, or rear entrances, the first thing that hits you, is the beauty and elegance of this place. It is a warming atmosphere alone that stays with you. Food wise, I have never been disappointed (as many people have claimed having to wait for their meals), I have to disagree. A Spaghetti Bolognese takes time to cook and prepare, it is not done in pre-bulk prep like other restaurant's do. The short wait is worth it and it is served hot. With its varied menu there is not a single meal that I could recommend, because though my above favourite dish is preferred, I have indulged in others, including Pizza, Scampi and Lasagna. All of these in my opinion were value for money, and all followed by a desert, which was equally delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Sant' Angelo's, whether for those living local, or afar, you will discover a beautiful restaurant with a big heart for the Italian dishes that it serves up. There is also the Music Nights, too, which will never cease to entertain the movers and shakers among you. I should also add, that there is soft beverages for those designated driver's who wish to enjoy getting out and not being restricted. Teas, coffees and soft drinks are offered to these great people who look at the sensible side of dining out.

The Meet and Greet was polite, the showing to our table comfortable and the ordering of our meals to the point of being served was excellent. Some locals had told us not to dine out at the Restaurant for their experience was disastrous, but, we (My wife and I) would rather experience the setting, the service and the meal first hand before passing judgement. In the case of Sant' Angelo's, we have agreed to visit on all our birthday's and other celebrations, too, just to experience the warm hospitality of the restaurant and its warm, friendly staff. Our daughters enjoyed watching their Pizza's being made by the Chef, while the light atmospheric music around the whole room was relaxing and not too loud so as to drown out our conversations. At the end of the evening we found that we were allowed to finish our meals and wait a while longer while we finished our drinks before asking for the cheque. It was neither rushed nor were at any time feeling scrutinised as to over staying our welcome there. We would highly recommend Sat' Angelo's to anyone, whether you are visiting or if you are a resident of the Town itself.

The Black Bull in Wetherby is by far one of the best Public Houses I've been to this side of Leeds…read more I say "Best by far" for three reasons. The first, is that the whole character of this place is genuine, nostalgic and well presented around the rest of the stone buildings. Second, from entering the main entrance from across the way from the Wetherby Town Hall, the atmosphere hits your senses: Music in particular, which is lacking in many pubs across Yorkshire. And, third, as well as the music selection, the choice of beers and other beverages is not lacking in variety. The pub is big (self notable as to maintain upwards of 150 or more) with adequate seating, both comfortable and relaxing. The Pool table is a good touch (£1 per game) and never fails to entertain. And, with a large outside area (beer garden) where those who smoke can go out and socialise happily, it is these main factors that give The Black Bull, Wetherby, my 5* Rating. Having been here a few times (regrettably only visiting for the first time a year ago) I found the staff exceptional, warm and friendly. Socially speaking, the customers are (who I, myself interacted with) were also warm and friendly, happy to converse and socially active in blending with the atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Wetherby from either Leeds or the Harrogate area's, if only to experience the way that pubs should be - and were before the big change.

Right in the…read morecentre of the pretty North Yorkshire town of Wetherby, the Black Bull is a charming old double-fronted pub with parking nigh-on-impossible nearby. When you first walk in, it looks tiny ... but as you get round to the bar, you realise it goes much deeper and has a cute beer garden too. Food is a mixed bag. Their Black Bull pie is definitely worth a go (steak pie), very tasty 'tho their veggies are not always cooked to perfection. Scampi came out nice with a decent serving of chips and tartare sauce; the steak was a real let-down, very tough and you could have used it as a replacement sole for your shoe. We've never had time for puddings but they have some 'proper' puddings on the menu, like sticky toffee pud and custard. Wide selection of draught beers as you'd expect from a pub in this beautiful part of the country, they also serve a few different alcopops, wine and ciders. Prices aren't too unreasonable - average £6 for a main course and you do get a plateful of food, no skimping on portions. They also have pool tables and Sky TV's dotted throughout the bar and dining areas. Nice, relaxed and informal - and no-one looks at you strangely if they suss you're not a local. Staff are pleasant and it's an all-round nice pub for a quick drink and a bite to eat.

This whole Yelpy business can be so fortuitous. Call it serendipity, call it what you will, but I…read moreknow for sure I would never have discovered this gorgeous little eatery had it not been for wordy wanderers - and I'm so glad I did. Mango is a gorgeous wee café-cum-restaurant in the wee town of Wetherby and I decided to pilgrimage out after spotting the recommendation, as my Mum was up to stay last week and I wanted to take her out to lunch. Since she came in the car we decided to make a small trip out, it was only about 25 minutes give or take, and the day was gorgeously sunny. After an amazing little browse of the town, and a fabulous visit to the monthly shoe sale in the town hall, we went in search of Mango. It's up one of the sweet little side streets, where all the buildings are made of what looks like Cotswold Stone - gorgeous sandstone bricks. As soon as we entered we received a hugely warm welcome and took a seat under the stairs in the café area to choose our lunch. I ordered a Massala Chai and I can't tell you how incredible it was. Well, I'm going to try. The lovely lady asked if I'd like them to sweeten it, which I went for since they'd be the experts, and it was delicious. Sweet, but not overly so, spicy with cinnamon and clove, and so warming. Like relaxation therapy in a cup! Given that it was one of the most blustery days I've known (the metal shop signage on all the businesses were swinging like guillotines) it was just what I needed. We had a delightful bit of a natter with the girl who was serving us, as we decided what to eat, and in the end opted for two of the Indian lunch dishes, since that is what they specialise in. And for the carnivores out there - you wouldn't miss the meat one iota. The menu is fabulous! We decided to share the Pav Bhaji and the Indian Special Wrap. Oh my goodness. The Pav Bhaji was a portion of mixed vegetables made into a patty of some kind, complete with a toasted bap, and was utterly flavoursome. The Indian Wrap (almost like a pancake wrap) came complete with the most delicious paneer chunks, potato, a side salad and a portion of mint-yoghurt. It was medium spicy (although they ask how spicy you'd like it) and it was incredibly moreish! I practically inhaled the food, managing (just about) to savour each tasty bite, my only lament being that with each mouthful I was closer to the end. Each mouthful was perfectly balanced with spice, taste and texture and it was the perfect amount to satisfy one for a lunch-time filling. If I get the chance I'd love to come back and try something a little more hefty from their restaurant menu as I'm sure it would be just as impressive. The total came to about £17 for two drinks and two dishes, which is probably more than I'd like to spend, but this is a definitely an instance where we were paying for quality. All in all I couldn't be more pleased that we made the effort to visit - and I highly recommend you do so as well! Love love love it.

The food here is delicious, freshly prepared and leaves you wanting to visit for your next meal and the meal after that. Get me checking into somewhere so far out of the LS1 area! You know this place must have been…read moresomething special to get me out for that (although having a lift also helped massively!!).. I'm a bit of a fan of Italian food, and also a fan of live entertainment in restaurants - so Sant' Angelo was perfect for me. I took a group along for a Shirley Bassey tribute evening & a meal, and they were both fantastic. The singer started off with a number of Shirley hits, but also completely played the character well.. she then came back to do a 2nd set which featured a number of hits from different performers & also included a few tracks from Dolly Parton (where again she played the act well). I massively enjoyed a very generous helping of spaghetti carbonara, while my friends tucked into a well portioned & tasty lasagne, rigatoni & finally a fishy type salad (can you tell I don't eat salad or seafood from that?) - the salad, I was advised, wasn't quite as filling as the other dishes - but what do you expect from a salad (not that I would know, I think I mentioned that I'm a salad dodger?). The venue itself is very centrally located.. if you live in Wetherby.. otherwise it's definitely worth taking a trip out to enjoy. The staff were all fun, friendly, interactive & attentive and the venue itself is a beautiful setting for a meal, whether that be an intimate meal for 2 or for a larger group of you. I only had one let down in the evening, and that was due to a slightly rowdy group at the table next to us, whom even the singer had to ask to quieten down a couple of times & I could also see that they were disturbing the other diners sat at the other side of them. I just felt that the staff of the venue should have noted that they were disturbing others and taken more action to quieten them down a bit - don't get me wrong, they weren't totally wild & out of control otherwise I think many people would have been vocalising their complaints. We're already planning on returning in December, then again in April, so all in all it was a great experience that I'm looking forward to enjoying, and maybe I can upgrade to 5 star next time!

Of the branches 've visited over the last few years, this is one of the better ones. Its also one of the more compact venues, so the two are probably linked as it never really gets TOO busy, unlike some others I've been in. The food here is usually fresh and tastes fine, although sometimes the pasta can be overcooked and the pizzas a little burnt, but its nothing which really spoils your enjoyment. Theres plenty of choice on the menu starters, main courses, and a dessert menu, which is the only overpriced element to the place. The drinks menu is pretty extensive too - with a decent wine list, and an occasional specials menu which offers something a little different from time to time. As mentioned, service here is unhurried and friendly, and the atmosphere - particularly at night when they put the candles out - is cosy. Recommended.
