They have quiz nights and Sky Sports on TV, and are always advertising Sunday roast dinners although I've never tried any of the food. I've always thought that it could do with a bit of a makeover but other than that, since the smoking ban came in (it used to be filthy) it's clean enough. There's a pool table and a few games machines. Steer clear of the wine unless you like vinegar. They're not exactly geared up for the ladies!

I've only eaten there once, in the afternoon, and the portions were absolutely massive - definite value for money if you're into quantity, but the quality wasn't quite there for me I'm sorry to say. That's a shame because I really want to like the place. I took my little boy with me, and the landlady spent ages with him, colouring in pictures and playing little games. They're definitely really friendly so I'd say it's worth a visit on that basis alone.
