I only popped in here for a soft drink before a job, but it was easy to see that this place will be popular with the Friday 5pm crowd. High ceilings, expensive liquor behind the bar, and rafts of wine glasses complement the purple decor and wooden floors. The toilets are upstairs (a fair jaunt, it has to be said) and again are well-decorated and stocked. Overall this place would be on my list if I ever found myself thirsty in Retford again! read more

The pub used to be part of the Brewers Fayre lot, but was sold around 2 years ago. The food was never that good, but the rebrand has fixed all that. The pub has a nice friendly atmosphere for locals and visitors alike, and there's an obligatory pool table and fruit machines too. There is a variety of different styles of seating and tables, which also includes a beer-garden of sorts (its next to the road!). Well recommended. for a drink or a meal.
