A nice little course up in Godfrey. Played in the afternoon midweek, paid less than 15 bucks for 18…read morewith a cart. Greens were in very good shape considering how they are in the rest of the area right now. Not too many ball marks or burnt up areas. Fairways were in decent shape, and the rough was pretty straightforward to play out of, played very fair all around. Layout-wise, the front 9 benefit a longer hitter, lots of space to go hard with driver. Groves of trees separate most of the fairways from each other, so be prepared to play some low safety shots if you're a little wild off the tee. The back 9, however, I didn't really care for. There's two hard left doglegs that just seemed a little cutesy, they were easy to play with an iron off the tee, I just thought the design was lame on the first hole with it, and then the second was enough to annoy me into ranting about it. Assume it's due to a lack of space on the back side, which happens, I understand, just wasn't my cup of tea. Other than that, a pleasant little course. May be back if I can snag another cheap tee time. As an added benefit, looked like they had a nice big driving range, and more than enough space to warm up on the practice green. Can't attest to the food and beverage situation in the clubhouse, but assume it's on the same level as any other course around.

Gentleman running front desk was very rude. teed off, let the group of two behind us play through,…read morethen re-teed. He then came out and got mad because we took a long time, and told us to have carts in at 6:30. Then a few holes later a guy came out of the woods trying to sell us golf balls which was weird. On hole 8, it was 6:10. We decided to play that hole and then drive back and skip hole 9 to get the carts in. On our approach shots, we noticed him coming up to us. Instead of a friendly reminder, he began to yell at us that it was a quarter from 6 and that we needed to get the carts in before 6:30. My friend met him and politely explained that we would return the carts immediately after we finished the hole. He did not want to hear it. We again explained we let the people in front of us through, which set us back a little. He then told us they had finished 40 minutes ago (we were a foursome and they were a twosome) and if we didn't have the carts in by 6:30 we would never come back to the golf course (which would be a non-issue anyway). After a little more explaining by us, he told us to just pick up our balls and leave the course. I get wanting the carts in at a certain time, but I dont understand the tyrade before 6:30, and when we had time to bring them back in.
