Having a house on the market during the holiday season is tough. We did not expect to sell until Spring, but the house sold in a little over four months. The Spencer Properties team is such a collaborative masterpiece. Initially, Jennifer Spencer and her senior listing broker, Lisa Jackson, met with us. This company's presentation is quite professional. They leave you thinking... this agent/client relationship is too good to be true or what's the catch'? Well, it is true and there's no catch. It's true that Lisa would hold our hands until we got a contract. I called to inquire about looking for other properties while our property was on the market. 1) she returned my call immediately {not just this instance, but every time I called her}, and 2) she connected me with Misha who added me to her notifications of available properties. After our house was on the market for a few months, I emailed Lisa - not for any particular reason (I suppose for reassurance). Again, she responded right away. She actually encouraged me to contact her for anything at any time. Lisa said something that stuck with me. She stated, "Each day your house doesn't sell, I take it personally, and that's why I'm going to do everything in my power to sell your house." If Lisa tells you this - believe her because she means it. I mentioned earlier this outstanding collaborative team. Paul took care of our signage and flyers. Don't be discouraged if you have limited signage for Open Houses. I didn't realize it at the time, but there's actually legalities involving excessive open house signs. Paul was very pleasant with every encounter. It was nice to see his smiling face, but many times he would arrive to take care of your yard sign and leave without being noticed. Great guy! Amber Cole helped us with staging. She's very energetic and passionate about her work. I wasn't always receptive to her ideas because I didn't think anything was wrong with my house. She reiterated that removing my personal touch was not a negative, but she needed to prepare a marketable product to attract the masses. Misha Cashion and Ann Marie Sajewicz handled our open houses. They are awesome and always left informative feedback. Once the house was under contract, Kelli McGuire held our hands through closing. To speak to Kelli's dedication, she was returning emails during off hours and even when she was home sick. We can't forget Mark Coleman who was also a pleasant contact. This company is serious about beginning to end care. Kara Smith followed up with us to discuss our experience with Spencer Properties and was genuinely interested in our satisfaction with their service. As if that wasn't kind enough, I got a personal congratulatory call from Jennifer Spencer thanking us for trusting her company with the sale of our home. The thing that this team has in common is that they ALL said, "Give me a call if you need anything or have any questions." Even when we were transitioning from being on the market to pending status, Lisa did a formal introduction of our closing team, but everyone still gives you that, 'but I'm here if you need me' good feeling. Finally, I must mention that Debra Lyte sets the tone for the company. From beginning to end, she is pleasant through and through. Whether it's setting up a meeting or making your office visit comfortable - Debra creates an atmosphere of care surrounding this entire team of incredible people. I am completely dissatisfied with Spencer Properties. I recently toured a home offered for rent.Upon seeing the photos online of this home I knew immediately this was exactly what I was looking for. The pictures online made this home look beautiful and I could not wait to get my family into this great home. I was so excited when I saw this home I could barely contain myself. I instantly knew this was a perfect fit for my family so I set an appointment to view this property. As soon as I pulled into the drive way I was reassured this was the perfect home for my family. That's when everything turned for the worst. As soon I walked in I was hit with an intense smell of smoke and pet odor. The carpet looked like it hasn't been changed in about 15 years and was full of stains everywhere. As I walked through the home the floors felt like they were so worn that there had to be some issues with the plywood underneath. Almost like with every step you were worried about the floor caving in. The family room downstairs really caught my attention with the fireplace and wet bar. One of the things I was most excited about using. As soon as I walked downstairs I realized the flooring was mismatched and even had a section that was painted to match the already mismatched floor. It looks as if the carpet was ripped out due to a basement flood of some sort. I'm not really too sure but something felt off about this particular home for rent and Spencer Properties' way of handling home tours and rentals. When you show a home to a prospecting tenant it is recommended that the home be cleaned and at least vacuumed at least create some sort of sense of ownership. I cannot believe that this company is so disconnected with how to properly run a real estate company it is appalling. Simply put, Jennifer Spencer went above and beyond for me and my family. As a newly single parent to a pre-schooler my home search was emotional and challenging.
