It was such a disappointment when Covid happened and not being able to enjoy the fair last year but I'm so excited that it will be going on in 2021. I'm not the biggest fan of rides although the ones here I will selectively enjoy but the best part to me is going through and seeing all the 4H animals including the horses the cows, chickens, goats, rabbits and all the other great showcases they offer. The photography contest is one of my personal favorites and I also love that they do baking contests as well as woodworking and Legos for kids. It's fun for the entire family and has something to offer for all age groups. The food is pretty good for festival food and I believe they've even added a craft beer tent which is a huge plus. I will be returning year after year, no doubt about that!

this was my first garlic fest and i literally had the time of my life. when they say they're over…read more200+ vendors, they seriously mean it!! it took me an hour just to browse around before really like stopping at the places i wanted to, it was incredible! they had so many unique booths and i got to try so many samples ranging from black garlic, garlic chocolate bark, garlic fudge, garlic vinegar, garlic cheese, so much more, i was in absolute heaven. all the non garlic vendors were also soo good, my bank account was definitely balling out this weekend, haha! can't wait for next year!

We saw carnival rides, carnival games, children's activities, two stages of live music, booths from 26 garlic growers, 97 Specialty Food Stands, 8 Soap vendors, 14 Food Court vendors, 60 craft vendors, 16 Snack Food Vendors, 12 Jewelry vendors, and 9 "miscellaneous" vendors. We walked around for an hour and picked up an eclectic group of stuff -a chili soup mix, a cinnamon chocolate chip bread, a salted caramel coconut beer blondie, a salted pretzel knot, two Asian dumplings, and a cup of chocolate Italian ices. It was outstanding, simply outstanding.

There's plenty of activities for the 100,000 people that visits. There were plenty of food tents, a parade, fireworks, carnival rides, arts & crafts, live music, and more. There were parking ordinances throughout. I saw many lots charging a fee and free parking throughout. We were able to find free parking at a municipal parking lot, after some driving aorund. The event was packed! I had apple cider margarita at a booth with live music. Also, I had apple crisp with vanilla ice cream from a church; both items were good! My family had a fun time at this traditional event and glad to have checked it off our list.

The price was $15 for adults and $8 for kids aged 5-12. All children are free on Sunday. What perfect timing, we passed by the Mohegan sun booth right in time for the 4pm Tao chef demo session. I've eaten at Tao before, so I was eager to participate. All I had to do was place a $25 bet on the app and it granted my party of 4 admission. The chef was very entertaining. We got a delicious BLT bao bun each and each got a ticket to redeem a $10 drink from a nearby juice truck, Ta' Deliciozo. The juices were made fresh with quality ingredients. To top it off, under our chairs was an envelope with a prize listed. We won merchandise and credit in the app. This was a very good steal! Definitely got our money's worth. We stop by a few tastyfood trucks then watched some of the 6pm Ready Go Dog Show. I enjoyed this event and will definitely be back next year!

There is barely any parking available, leaving you with the choice of paying $20+ for third-party parking or hunting for metered street parking that's limited to three hours. Then there's the $20 admission fee for adults, which would be understandable if there were actually something worth seeing. The vendor selection was pathetic, and the overall quality was extremely disappointing. But the biggest joke is the name: Oyster Festival. Why? There was essentially one oyster vendor, selling questionable oysters, plus two carts offering overpriced lobster rolls of horrible quality. That's it. No New England charm. No unique atmosphere. No meaningful representation of local food, culture, or vendors. Just overpriced food, limited options, and a hefty admission fee for what feels like a glorified street fair. Save your money and skip this event. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and pubs in the area where you'll get a much better experience for your money. Complete rip-off. Zero stars if Google allowed it.

Parking on site was $10 on site and thanks to the weather we got a spot close to the entrance. I purchased tickets on line but you could get them at the gate. Now for the festival itself. First off, it took place in the middle of a Nor'easter, so that kept the crowds down... not to say it wasn't busy. there were quite a few of us diehards to braved the elements! The rain wasn't to bad... passing showers and a brief downpour. But the wind! Hold on to your hats (or tents...which many vendors had to do)! Lots of different local farms selling and offering samples of their garlic and garlic products. All the farmers I talked to were friendly, helpful and informative and you could tell they love growing garlic! They explained the different styles, flavor differences and growing tips and despite the weather, all were in good spirits! Now there wasn't just garlic bulbs... there was cheese, pickles, honey, dipping and hot sauces, kim chi, pesto and fudge to name a few... most involving garlic in some way (yes, even the fudge)! Hungry? Garlic chowder, garlic hamburgers, mac and cheese, pizza, empanadas and more! Definitely something for everyone. There were also plenty of vendors selling garlic themed items such as hats, t-shirts, jewelry and more along with arts and crafts vendors. It can be a long day on your feet so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to leave with all your garlic needs met!

My group arrived probably at the height of the event (Saturday - noonish) and there was a long line at every food vendor. The festival was much larger than expected and we were there for a good 3 hours. There is live music scattered around the venue and lots of samples from the vendors. You can probably go through the festival within an hour when the crowd is more manageable (very early or later in the day).

I like dogs, but I don't know every dog and I don't want them near my food. That aside, it's an enjoyable place for families to come; go on the ride, the carnival Food, check out the vendors, and people watch. There's a lot of walking involved, but there are places to sit outside the buildings and near the food courts. Bring cash, some of the indoor vendors take cards.
