Okay, we didn't spend a huge amount of time…read morewandering around it namely because it was getting a little dark and we were trying to locate a laundromat (I'm starting to call them wash salons for some bizarre reason - maybe it is because that is what the Germans call them). Anyway this certainly isn't what I would call a boring park since there are quite a few things to do here, even if lying on the grass and having a snooze is your idea of doing something in a park (though make sure nobody steals your bag if that is what you are doing). As I wandered through here I did encounter some play equipment and a rather pleasant lake. However, the great thing about the park was simply its greenery, even in the early evening the place was pleasant.

Wel als inwoner van Deurne noord ben ik geneigd mijn hometurf als een hel te beschouwen, maar dit geheel terzijde. Sporadische pareltjes maken veel goed: deze nog steeds gebruikte sporthal is de grootste overblijver van Expo '58 (na het Atomium) en is een spectaculair ontwerp met een gekromd houten gebint. Typerend voor die tijd doet het futuristisch en zeer '50s aan. Voorwaar, Jacques Tati's Playtime in Deurne-noord.

It's a great place for a run or walk, and there are a couple of cafes nearby as well (Mika is adjacent to the park, and has a good value lunch; Van Dikke is not too far either, in the nearby Park). Keep an eye out for sculptures on the ground and in the air, as you wander the paths through trees and around lakes.
