The service was beyond expectation - super nice, big smiles, the two women knew many of the customers (clearly regulars) and made the overall experience perfect. If I lived closer to District, I would be in every day for my coffee. We took home a bag of the local Mississippi Mud beans and my daughter got a beautiful handcrafted bag for her belongings (they have a very fun, eclectic merchandise wall when you walk in). I came in expecting a warm, small-town or country tea shop feel, but instead found a strong New Age theme that didn't sit right with me. The mystical decor--fairies, crystals, and other spiritual items--felt more like a tarot card reader's studio than a tearoom. As a Christian, I found it off-putting, and I imagine others might as well. While I truly appreciate the hospitality and the quality of the products, the atmosphere just isn't for me. I'm sad to say I won't be returning, but I wish them continued success with the customers who resonate with their style.
