This gas station, no longer an Arco, often has the best prices in the local area. It's also easily accessible from both the north and southbound 101. Sure, the credit card scanners at the pumps often don't work. Sure, the station attendants are often lackadaisical. But I go to the gas station for gas, so much as I wish for a stellar customer experience, as long as I can fill up my tank and do it cheap (until I upgrade to an EV!) this place earns a solid three stars. read more

Even for Arco, this place is junk. Credit machines don't work, and my experience with attendants is also the same...they'd prefer stare at their phones then do their job. Down State Street a mile is a much better Arco and several other gas stations to choose from. read more

This gas station/convenience store is anything but convenient. I've gone there various times of day (not at the lunch hour) and the workers inside have locked the door barring customers from entering. They're just standing inside, talking on the phone, goofing off, barring people from entering for long stretches of time, even though they claim to be open 24 hours. Locking people out who've made a special trip to be there is very inconvenient and frustrating. Go elsewhere if you want to go to a convenience store that is actually convenient and actually open. read more

However if you go inside, you'll likely encounter non friendly clerks (they have a high turnover of employees, must be a miserable place to work) who don't greet or thank you. I would rate negative, if there was a choice. Worst gas station ever!!! The clerk at the register was completely out of it. I suspect he put my purchase on the wrong pump and it was received by another customer. The customer who was at the pump ahead of me even told me. Went back and forth at least a dozen times to have him either reset my pump or refund my money, He was very polite, but refused my pleas to call a supervisor for help and acted like it was no big deal while he struggled in vain. I waited, without exaggeration, at this gas station for over an hour!! He made a mistake and would not admit or correct it until my wife came in and screamed at him in front of the long long line of waiting customers. After this, he gave me a partial refund, and I left over an hour behind schedule. Buyer beware: ALWAYS get a receipt and make sure your pump clears before trying to pump any gas. I will NEVER patronize this ARCO station again and advise if you do, exercise caution. read more

Paid $80.00 cash for gas. Handed it to the woman working there and asked if it would "come back" if I didn't use it all. She said "yes." It was silly of me, of course, to act if I had handed her a debit or credit card instead of cash. Still, it was at least equally silly of her to say "yes." Before leaving I noticed that the pump read $70something ($76.?? perhaps). A few minutes after driving off, I realized that I had to physically pick up my cash. I turned around, went back, and explained the situation. The cashier shuffled through large numbers of checks and told me she "couldn't find it." I remarked that I had been there about ten minutes earlier, and she said that there had been "a lot of people at the pump" since then. (Hard to believe; the place was reasonably busy, but not that busy.) At this point, a woman came in to pay and asked if she could pay for her gas. The customer then told me to "scoot" (presumably scoot over to the side) so that she could talk to the new customer, so I scooted. (In retrospect, since I was a customer waiting for change, even under unusual circumstances, it's not clear why I was supposed to yield to another customer who was behind me. I also note now that the cashier simply ordered me to scoot, with no "please" or explanation of why I should scoot.) The new customer politely made it clear that she wanted to pay with a credit card and attempted to do so. (If I'm not mistaken, the cashier asked "credit or debit" and was told "credit," before the customer tried to use her card but that's so hard to believe in light of later events that I may be imagining it. In any case, the cashier was clearly given to understand that the new customer was paying with credit and said nothing.) The new customer was having trouble completing her credit transaction when it struck me that the station did not appear to accept credit, and I asked whether it did. The cashier remarked that there were "signs everywhere" indicating that credit was not accepted. I started to say something about how I would have used credit myself if I had thought it was accepted, but was cut off by the cashier, who told me to "stop talking." I apologized for talking and walked out without my change, but after reflection decided to respond to the cashier. This review is my response. read more
