Got all over them our car and literally anything that was close by. When I RAN to go get help from a worker inside he was dismissive and rude and made it seem like it was all our fault. Even insinuating we just didn't know how to turn it off. When the gas FINALLY stopped and we asked for a refund since this was clearly not our fault the manager refused to give us a refund for the 60 DOLLARS worth of gas THEIR faulty pump spilled everywhere. The only good part of this whole experience was the super kind stranger who saw how upset we were and helped us get the employee to offer us a refund. Do NOT get gas here if you can help it. Awful experience. UPDATE! We went in this morning to receive our refund and the manager Carmen was extremely apologetic about the whole situation and did give us our money back. She was also just very nice and did seem genuine about being worried about us and our experience. So thank you so much Carmen for making it right with us!!

That, paired with the fact that the gas is not astronomical makes this a good place to stop when you're running low after doing a road trip to Santa Barbara. The gas station only has about 4 pumps, and one of them is consistently out of service but at least the other three are fairly fast. I really have trouble waiting for really slow pumps and often don't fill up all the way since it takes like 10 minutes to do 10 gallons or something. There is a nice little Seaside Market attached to this Shell with all the expected amenities you would want in a convenience store.

It usually results in a few free car washes per year (if you have a certain make of car, a license plate ending in a certain number, etc.). You just drive up to the car wash, wave at the attendant, and they let you in when your car is eligible for the free wash.
