We were visiting from out of town, and I needed to be back in my town about 60 miles away for a meeting first thing in the morning. A friend helped me pump up the tire and I took it to the Wal-Mart store in Port Clinton. Even though it was after 5 pm , the counter representative got a quick consult from the guys in the back, and said they could do a repair before the department closed at 7 (it was a Saturday). The counter man was polite, thorough, showed concern for my situation, and provided detail on what the mechanic said. Also described the repair and gave an estimate. I received updates on the status of my repair by text. Just before seven we returned to the store, the tire was fixed, and the whole job cost me just 16 bucks. Again, the counter man was friendly and courteous, thanked us for letting Wal Mart help, and send us along. The whole experience was outstanding. Props to the great mechanic and customer interface.

Having only four self-serve registers and 1 full service register open during a busy time is also bad customer service. Do better!

Closest one is 60 miles away. In Columbus. Add to the frustration, I was looking for hydrocortisone cream which Sam's has at a good price. Trouble is while the Sam's app indicates it is carried, not a single store within 180 miles has it in stock. I got one of those $15 memberships mainly for gas savings because Costco is 40 miles away. But Sam's gas is slightly more than surrounding stations so no savings there. I have been to Sam's once and never at the gas station. And the one time I did go there, what I really wanted (sparkling water and yogurt) not only wasn't in stock but there wasn't even an empty space for it. It supposedly could have been picked up at the store. Yeah right. I am certainly glad I did not pay full price for a membership. The app needs to better reflect what is actually in the store. Like a pharmacy. And don't send me notices for things that I can only get by driving 60 miles with gas over $4.50 a gallon.

Has a good selection for a small place. It has a pretty big produce section. Many fresh looking items the last time. Friendly service for the most part. They have a pretty good layout so it's not too hard finding stuff. Also has fresh made items. They have baked goods and salads in the deli part. It seems like a typical place to buy food. One of the better places in town to shop. The prices are comparable to other stores.

I was surprised to see they have a meat department that is manned by a butcher/attendant. Not a huge selection, but enough to have a great barbeque. They were well stocked with chips and soda. We stopped in for ice cream, and there was a decent selection of flavors. Service was efficient. They are trying to get people in, out and on their way. A sign on terminals indicates that the card readers are slow, but it wasn't that noticeable. Due to COVID-19 occupancy in the stote is limited. The store is requiring masks for employees and customers. Patrons must knock on the inside door to be let in. A parking lot is shared with a neighboring business. It provides ample parking for both businesses.
