It was late Friday, the end of the month, another Uhaul location gave me a lecture about not reserving a truck ahead of time, a Penske was out of trucks (but one of the guys offered to come help move furniture when he finished his shift), and just when I thought my luck had run out - Crenshaw's! The dude working (owner?) was polite and helpful and no attitude about trying to rent a truck on the 30th of the month. But the best part was - my initial estimate (one day rental, insurance, estimated 30 miles of driving) came in at about $85, but when I looked at my credit card statement, it came in at $76. I've never had a vehicle rental come in under the estimate. I returned the truck with scant minutes to spare in my 24 hour window, and since I had to use the key drop off I was sure that I was going to be charged for two days. It was great to do business with an honest truck rental guy. Should I ever need a truck in Charlottesville again, Crenshaw's will be my first call, not my 3rd.
