There was a scan reader and a slot reader. I tried the scan reader, but it wouldn't work, so I used the slot reader. I paid for the gas I bought and went on my way. Later I got a text from my card company saying there was a fraud charge of $151 from Pilot gas station. I had to get the card cancelled and a new card issued with a new number. I now have to call several companies that I have auto pay with the update the card number. What a PAIN!

You'll find a Subway sandwich shop and Dunkin Donuts, along with the normal assortment of C-store offerings and trucker needs. The restrooms were only moderately dirty. Bottom line is, you can find better places to fuel and/or grab a snack pretty much anywhere along the I-10 corridor. To add insult to injury, I noticed that diesel was .20-.30/gallon cheaper at the next several stations I passed. It's "travel centers" like this that make Buc-Ee's such a welcome sight!

From their egg casserole to their fried pork chops and fish, the entree selections encompass everything you could want and more! If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing! So this review is less about the gas station and more about the Speedpass+ app that you can use to…read morepay. The gas station itself is your standard gas station. What sets it apart in this market is that it accepts the Exxon Speedpass+ mobile app. Here is what you do: Download the app to your phone (in my case, iPhone). Enter credit card info and whether you want to have receipts emailed to you, printed or both. That's it. Now go to this Exxon and open the app. If you have location services the app will tell you which gas station you are at and ask you for the pump number. If you don't see the pump number, no problem. The app will let you scan the QR code that is on the pump. Once you enter the pump number or scan the code, the app will authorize the pump and you are ready to pump your gas. When you are done fueling and put the nozzle back, your receipt will print or be emailed to you (in my case, both). That's it. Off you go. And the local station never has or sees your credit card. Genius. And the technology works!
