They are positive, helpful, and genuinely seem to care about their customers. They go out of their way to help. From their patience at Eat's Southern Cooking with a large order during their busiest morning time to one of their checkout clerks helping me to my car with my order, they make my visit a pleasure. That, in turn, makes me pass other closer gas stations to get to this one! In today's negative customer climate, thanks for your awesome customer service! While I'm on the subject, Eat's Southern Cooking is a gem. Located within the SunStop, they serve a traditional buffet-style country breakfast and lunch that is superior to many regular restaurants. From their egg casserole to their fried pork chops and fish, the entree selections encompass everything you could want and more! If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing! Trust me and make a special trip to Eat's for breakfast or lunch...you'll be very glad you did!

So this review is less about the gas station and more about the Speedpass+ app that you can use to…read morepay. The gas station itself is your standard gas station. What sets it apart in this market is that it accepts the Exxon Speedpass+ mobile app. Here is what you do: Download the app to your phone (in my case, iPhone). Enter credit card info and whether you want to have receipts emailed to you, printed or both. That's it. Now go to this Exxon and open the app. If you have location services the app will tell you which gas station you are at and ask you for the pump number. If you don't see the pump number, no problem. The app will let you scan the QR code that is on the pump. Once you enter the pump number or scan the code, the app will authorize the pump and you are ready to pump your gas. When you are done fueling and put the nozzle back, your receipt will print or be emailed to you (in my case, both). That's it. Off you go. And the local station never has or sees your credit card. Genius. And the technology works!

As you could guess, the farther out with fewer choices, the higher the prices climb. If you're "in town" this is the stop but... my next part is the reason for the poor rating. I ventured inside for lottery tickets. I play regularly and this was the slowest experience EVER! I had winning scratch-offs to be scanned which is my usual. The guy scanned each as expected but most places will scan one after another. This guy scanned one, waited for the print-out and stapled it to the ticket... then the next for minutes. I was rolling the winnings to the next set of tickets and he had to count them one at a time. My usual place of purchase (and most others) have realized if you count 5 or ten and continue to fold over, you really don't have to count. By the time he was finished the line was about 15 people long. Pumps are fine but inside was a fail. You decide.

If I thought it'd help revive this Tallahassee legend, I'd create a Yelp business page for it. Alas, it won't. But - just as some of the tchotchke's for Jim Morrisson's grave in Pere Lachaise spill over to the neighboring plots, perhaps some of your own fond memories of Vinyl Fever can spill over here into the Circle K page.
