I noted an area of generally lower prices after crossing into Indiana from Michigan so I planned to pull it up again once we were on the road and in the area. I look for lower prices closest to my route that were reported recently. I've driven a couple of miles off my route to save what looks like 25-30¢ per gallon only to find that it was higher. So, close to the route, recent, similar low prices nearby, and the cherry on top is a prices sign visible just before the exit. We exited the interstate looking for a Speedway station that had every criteria met except sign visible from the highway and when we pulled up to the station, instead of the expected $2.54/gal it was now $2.79/gal...25¢ higher per gallon! Now GasBuddy is user reported and gas prices can change rapidly, I had one change once as I was pulling in! So I put in $2 and drove off looking for lower prices! But it was not to be as everything in the immediate area was suddenly at $2.79 also, funny how that happens! So I chose this Family Express location, also $2.79/gal, because it was on the right side of the road for easy re-entry and I was too low on gas to search anywhere else. What I found was the usual automated pumps, same pricing as others in the area, clean facilities and restrooms, and a convenience store. Certainly as good a choice as other major national brands. I would definitely stop here again, depending on price, of course!

If you download the Pilot app, you can find some nice deals, including 10 cents per gallon discount and other goodies. The washrooms here are immaculate! They have a Subway and a McDonalds and Pilot has some hot food offerings near the register (pizza, chicken, potato wedges, sides, etc). Pilot has a deal where you can get two slices of pizza and a 20oz. Pepsi for $8. Not too bad when two people need a snack and one of them prefers coffee over soda. I also like that they have a designated area for your furry friends to go potty.

This Godfather's Express makes pies that taste just like the ones that I remembered. It's really hard to find quality that has stood the test of time for that long. Whenever we gather at my coworker's house, she grabs 2-3 pies for us: Pepperoni, Meat Lovers' and Sausage, Onions & Mushrooms. All thin crust. Grab some Bud Light Platinum and it's a good time. If you need a toilet, you may be in luck with a clean one, but otherwise it's just another average disorganized gas station.

Sacagawea dollars off my hands when I went to pay for gas that I wouldn't have been able to get rid of otherwise, seeing as I was on my way back to Canada. Seriously. If that's not a minor miracle, I don't know what is. As an aside, don't ask what I was doing with nineteen Sacagawea dollars. Needless to say, I'm a bit of an idiot. The cashier was extremely rude and said that I "didn't push the button correctly," and that he "wasn't responsible because I shouldn't have walked away." Two other customers chimed in and gave the man a piece of their minds and agreed that everyone walks away from the pump. He claimed he shut the pump off right away, but I ended up paying for 22 gallons of gas when I only needed about 15. He refused to refund any of the money and said he would have if we paid cash. I will be calling to report this station. Also, the bathroom was disgusting. Now my car and my shoes are covered in gasoline. I'm glad I walked away or I would be covered in gas as it sprayed everywhere.

I came in just for that. Bought a dozen. I get a little sheepish like I'm taking advantage, but the clerks are glad to see you and glad you're getting a great deal. No need to worry if you aren't picking up your whole week's worth of groceries, they couldn't be nicer. That's just a game they play with us. That makes people think their overall prices are good. They'll run a few good deals to get you into the store and then they hose you on the rest of the items. Remember, you have to bag your own groceries too. They have little price signs everywhere, "supposedly" showing the regular price, versus the "new" price. Are you kidding me? Did you ever look at those tags? Then they show "their" price on the tag. They have raised prices dramatically, since the new company took over. They're making a complete fool of you, if you think they haven't raised them. They're fooling you BIG TIME. Here's a perfect example. They hung a sign from the ceiling in the meat department that said: "Lower prices on thousands of items. Ground beef $7.18 for a pound.....a POUND! Does that sound like a "low" price to you? Plus, it comes in a tube. You have no idea what you're getting, because you can't see the meat. Here's another one. Chuck roast for $9.98 a pound. Does sound like a "bargain" to you? I could go on and on, how they're playing games with us customers. But you're getting railroaded folks. They put in a new floor, dressed some things up and shoppers think they're getting a great deal. Some of you really need to wake up. But that's ok, keep shopping there and fritter your money away. It's only "money," right? SMH.
