It wasn't just top shelf, it was basically everything but wine and mixers locked up. I rang the bell....waited. I rang the bell again.....waited. I finally go upstairs to get some help and he tells me he LOST the key to the vault. it's just a padlock on a chain and you lose the key and turn away business. I had been there waiting nearly 20 minutes and this now comes up. Ridiculous and I will never recommend anyone go here.

SoBro Spirits has got a lotta bourbon and whiskey, and in fact, I would say this is one of the better places to find bourbon in Indy. The wine section is fine but not the largest, although what they do have seems well curated and thoughtful. All around the store, you will see shopping baskets full of random bottles of discounted wine, beer and other alcohol. It was kind of fun to paw through the baskets and try to find a cheap treasure. Along with the Canadian whiskey, I walked away with a nice Rioja and a rose for a steep discount. This liquor store is located close to the Monon Trail, so it's easy to get to via bike or walking.

I ordered it online, went in to pick it up, and even was able to get a nice gift bag on site. Thank you, Kahn's! When I gave it to him, he literally gushed. It turns out he had bought that himself several years ago, and liked it so well that his restaurant served it for about a year. I had definitely struck gold! My husband wanted only a 6 pack, but they only carried a 12 pack so he had to get that. I was greeted when I walked in, which was nice. They do ask for your ID at checkout, and even though only my husband was purchasing something, we both had to show our IDs. The pricing seemed fair. The store itself is pretty typical for a liquor store ambiance, with aisles of different options and some items kept in the refrigerated cases. Nothing fancy or over the top, but it's convenient if they carry what you're looking for. For my husband, this is a good go to because they have his preferred beer. But I'd say it's 50/50 since they didn't have what I wanted and he had to purchase more than what he wanted.

Then a third one went past and asked if they could help me. I told her what I was looking for and she walked me to it. I am happy she did.
