There is a display case with a selection of fried fish and chicken parts. Is the healthiest food selections? It is not, but it is hot fresh and delicious. Remember there are no bad foods just bad food habits. So if you are in the area get yourself a snack or a meal. The fried Fried Fish Dinner is by far the best deal. At $6.50 it features 2 huge pieces of crispy fried whitefish, a garden salad and a dinner roll. There is also an unknown number of fried potato logs. Some days it's two sometimes it's three or more. There are some other modifications to this menu listing. They won't have dinner rolls, so you get a hamburger bun. However the bun makes a great fish sandwich so no problem. They also probably won't have the dinner salad, but that's another win. They will swap out macaroni salad if you request. So with the bun not a roll, a half pint of macaroni salad instead of veggies and the 20 oz drink included it's a pile of food. You can easily feed two people for less than $10. Their fried chicken is pretty good, crispy breading on large tender pieces. The fried gizzards are delicious but be prepared for a little extra chew. They are not pre boiled or pressure cooked.

The cashier told me the discount is not for people who prepay (but not before she fumbled over her words, so I suspect if I didn't prepay she would have told me the discount was only for prepays ). The same cashier made a mistake punching in my $20 when I entered the first time, therefore I simply do not trust her statement and think the marquee sign is a big lie. I am not sure how the discount works if you don't pay first. How is it applied then? I too was charged more than the listed price in the cooler for that wine and another item I bought. I pointed it out and all the cashier said was they were adjusting the prices for the season. I said that they needed to publish the correct price then. Nothing. Crickets. No adjustment and no apology. Barney's is only a couple miles, so I will just go there from now on. They carry Boars Head which is the main reason I went in! The produce department is a little on the small side but they carry the essentials. So many prepackaged fruit bowls! During our visit we noticed that they had a gingerbread house contest! My 6 year old had a blast voting for his favorite house!
