My best friend got a kit to make them at home and you get a free jumbo pretzel when you do that. You can also earn free pretzels through their phone app, which will come in handy for a pretzel lover like me. They were handling to covid regulations pretty well, even for a semi small place. I really enjoyed my pretzel, which I didn't even need dipping sauce for. My best friend enjoyed hers which I was happy about because she said she had never been to a Ben's Pretzels before. I'll definitely be coming back for another pretzel.

The power went out and a tornado definitely ran right by us when we were all huddled inside, many in the bathrooms but most clustered in the back to avoid windows. Some people were ducking out to take videos and brought them back to us in the bathrooms - yikes. Definitely a tornado, and thankfully no one was hurt. I have to say I can't think of a better group of people to go through that with - both fellow customers and staff. The manager was at the top of her game, very efficient and kind. All employees were checking on everyone and had to quiet a few panic attacks which they did quite well. We actually stayed longer than we needed to because talking to the staff was so much fun. The area was completely devastated by the storm, we discovered. This was on August 11, 2026, and we made sure to stop by and check on everyone when we came back the other way on August 15. Unfortunately the entire area was still without power and there was a lot of brush and debris still. Will definitely make this a regular stop whenever we're on 94!

There is a display case with a selection of fried fish and chicken parts. Is the healthiest food selections? It is not, but it is hot fresh and delicious. Remember there are no bad foods just bad food habits. So if you are in the area get yourself a snack or a meal. The fried Fried Fish Dinner is by far the best deal. At $6.50 it features 2 huge pieces of crispy fried whitefish, a garden salad and a dinner roll. There is also an unknown number of fried potato logs. Some days it's two sometimes it's three or more. There are some other modifications to this menu listing. They won't have dinner rolls, so you get a hamburger bun. However the bun makes a great fish sandwich so no problem. They also probably won't have the dinner salad, but that's another win. They will swap out macaroni salad if you request. So with the bun not a roll, a half pint of macaroni salad instead of veggies and the 20 oz drink included it's a pile of food. You can easily feed two people for less than $10. Their fried chicken is pretty good, crispy breading on large tender pieces. The fried gizzards are delicious but be prepared for a little extra chew. They are not pre boiled or pressure cooked.

I found this one located in a Martin's Supermarket and almost passed on stopping because google reviewers said it was terrible. Just goes to show you, never trust 3 google reviews because they were dead wrong! This location was clean, the employees were friendly, and the coffee was just as delish as I expected from my beloved Caribou Coffee. I had my standard order of a Zebra Cooler and it carried me all the way through the rest of my drive to Chicago. My only complaint was that it was somewhat hard to find and my gps took me all over the place trying to get there. Definitely off the beaten path of the turnpike although the route it took me to reenter the 'pike was much simpler.
