Retail beans have a stellar variety for roast level and bean origin-- everything I've tried has a unique flavor profile and is roasted to compliment each bean for what it is. Most recent bean I took home was a light roast Colombia Juan Puerta mango co-ferment, and it was perfect for a Chemex pour over. Dude behind the counter helped me choose a good bean that day to fit what I was craving, and helped me learn more about the what a co-ferment bean was.

That "minute" turned into 15 more while employees fumbled around inside. When they finally came back, they tried handing me food that wasn't even what I ordered. At that point, I should've known better. Got home and, shocker, it was worse. The food was burnt beyond saving, and the hot chocolate? Made with water instead of milk. Who does that? That's not hot chocolate -- that's sad brown water. There is zero heart, zero pride, and zero accountability here. Everything about this place screams laziness and incompetence. Slow service, incorrect orders, trash food -- the full trifecta. And before anyone says "bad day," no. This is not the first time I've had a piss-poor experience here. It's just the final straw. The interior vibes are the same; open, spacious, and clean. However, the food and most importantly, the staff, no longer maintain the quality that made me a regular in the first place. Artisan used to have amazing coffee and excellent food, but the coffee is no longer very good. I think this is due to the staff. The food has significantly declined in quality. The hollandaise on their breakfast sandwich is now a broken, greasy mess. The "sourdough" is generic white bread. What's even worse than the food is the staff. In the last two years, the staff has degenerated to an incompetent , bedraggled mess. The staff has never had to wear a uniform, but perhaps it's time for them to institute one. In my last several visits, I've seen grossly oversized clothes that have the staff looking like they just rolled out of bed. Hair is unkempt, not brushed, loose, and hanging down past their shoulders. A recipe for getting hair in my food. Furthermore, the staff is no longer smiling or friendly and can't answer basic questions about the menu. They seem confused about where they are and the service they provide. On top of all this, they maintain their strict breakfast timeframe. Why they have decided to stick to antiquated time limits for the food that is always available in their kitchen is beyond me. The barest minimum of market research would show how popular breakfast sandwiches are all day. What once was a vibrant, friendly coffee shop with great food, good coffee, and pleasant employees now feels like a dressed up McDonalds.
