Very decent selection of drinks and snacks. But the prices are insane. Customer service could also use a makeover.

We were searching for an RV Dump Station and fuel, and decided to stop here, which was a mistake. Pulling up to the RV dump station revealed a tattered sign, "Out of order". It looks like it has been out of order for a very long time. As you look around the outside of the station it is dirty and the fuel pumps need servicing. To try and get some assistance from the employees on where another dump station might be in the area, we were met with " Yeah, that way (pointing toward Anchorage), it's called Anchorage!" Another quote was "Can't you read the sign!!" The management of this station in regard to functioning services, stock, and cleanliness and employee treatment of customers is nonexistent and has been so for an extended period. Recommend you find another location for fuel and services because you will not know what is available and what is not. read more

My son and I stopped here on our way to soldotna. Upon trying to back out of the parking space I heard plastic crunching. I stopped immediately. I couldn't see anything in my mirrors that I might have hit. Walking around the car I see the bumper was starting to pull away from the fender. The bumper was caught on a 3/4" piece of rebar sticking out of the concrete parking stop. We had to lift the bumper off the rebar so we could back out. I filed a report with the assistant manager and she said someone would get in touch. 2 days later no calls. I contacted the general manager and he told me I would receive a call from his regional manager-no call. Called him back next day-told I would get a call within 30 minutes. Yep no call. So I called him back and was told he left message for his manager to call him and once she did he would instruct her to contact me. So it's now 8 hours later and no calls from either. So either she never called him or I'm getting run around. Either way not a place I will do busy in ever again. read more

This is a solid gas station. The gas and beverage and snacky prices are reasonable for the location, much unlike the "HUB OF ALASKA" in Glennallen. *shudder* But, let's be honest, the main reason this place is great is because of the attached liquor store. A perfect place to purchase your summit beers, your waterfall wines, or your camping whiskey. And, again, prices ain't all that bad. They also have a wide selection of that "hard seltzer water" (White Claw and it's army of copycats) that's all the rage these days. This is also one of your last spots for gas if you're headed down to Seward. read more

Since Speedway bought out Tesoro last year, they have absolutely ruined this gas station. Half the pumps are perpetually broken, the restrooms are "closed for maintenence" and the convenience store has about 1/4 of the items they used to sell when they were run by Tesoro. The management should be ashamed of themselves for taking a thriving, turnkey business and destroying it. Tourists and locals alike are disgusted with this place. It's a shame they are the only show in town. read more

We have been stopping here many times through the years and never had any issues. Last night was the exception. We came in just before 8pm and on top of the drink cooler by the checkout counter was a speaker and it was turned up very loud. If there was a definition of XXX-rated song lyrics, whatever the crap that was coming out of that box, would have certainly qualified. It was horrible and we left. It's the last "real stop," before the Peninsula or before Anchorage (depending on where you started). The last real bathroom before you're forced to use the smelly trail facilities, or have to walk into a small business where everyone states at you, or what I prefer, just going in nature. Better not pass it by if you need to load up on water, adult beverages, snacks or hot finger foods. How's your gas? You check the air in your tires? Does that fish need more ice? This Tesoro is also connected to a strip mall with other heartier food options. read more

Since this place switched over from being a Tesoro about a year ago it has consistently been a disaster, especially the restrooms, which basically are not cleaned. I realize that during the summer there is a lot of traffic, but, increased sales can obviously account for that. Come on people, have a bit of pride in doing a better job of representing Alaska! Store serves Girdwood and allTravel from Anchorage going south. Probably one of the most lucrative Service stations in Alaska. Unfortunately they are in incapable of cleaning up around the station amid the Covid crisis. I don't ask for much just get a water hose and wash things down maybe like once a week. This gas station is PERFECTLY located to meet the needs of drivers on the Glenn Highway. Gas, coffee, air, bathrooms, and convenient store items are ready for the purchase with a strip mall of shops on the side. We always stop here even when not necessary. It's perfect! read more

I admit. Driving down to Seward Highway to Whittier, I drove pretty fast and passed alot of cars and ended up burning alot of gas. Good thing our rental was a corolla with good mpg. My point is, I'm glad this Tesoro was where it is 'cause otherwise, we wouldn't have had enough to make it back to Anchorage. Oh yeah... the Tesoro! Without this place you'd literally be in the middle of nowhere. 6 miles down the road from where I stayed and al ot cheaper then the Merc in Girdwood. Gas, snacks, coffee, new papers... typically what you'd expect from the only convenience store for miles. Lil mini mall attached w/ gift shop,bakery,diner and such... True Alaskan mini mall shopping at its best! read more

This is the busiest gas station I've ever been to. Since there's nothing else available for at least 20 miles, and it's right off the scenic Seward Hwy, it's the place everyone goes to. I've often done all my grocery shopping here. It's pretty in and out, and the restrooms are always generally clean. read more

The gas station/convenience store itself is pretty good. The women's restroom was horribly filthy. Patrons were leaving paper towels all over the floor and they were not being picked up. The floors appeared not to be mopped very well when they do get mopped. A couple of the toilets had bowel movement splattered on back side of the toilets. There was a plastic grocery bag hanging on the back of the stall wall in the handicap stall that had used female hygiene products in it. A lot of bloody products in it. I get that the bathroom is well used and busy. However, the bathroom still needs to be cleaned often. From ceiling down to floor and everywhere in between. I was very disappointed as was a couple of other women that were in the bathroom at the same time. Wish I had my phone with me to take pictures. As filthy as this bathroom was it obviously does not get cleaned often or well when it does. read more

The store is out of compliance with enforcing the mask mandate. The store was crowded with easily a dozen people without masks.

Best gas around, can't beat the service, the staff is so nice an friendly, I would rather eat a hotdog from here than anything from the bake shop. read more

I'm sorry, I just cannot rate a gas station as a five, unless they're giving out free gas or have the best slurpees this side of the Mississippi river. Anyway, props to this station for having reasonable gas prices at the same level as Anchorage, and not jacking it up just because there's no other station for miles and miles. read more

I know, I know--it seems odd to rate a gas station so high. But you have to understand that this is a staple of the Girdwood drive. You must stop here. It's like a rite of passage. You stop here, regardless of if you need gas or not, get some M&Ms, stretch your legs and continue on. Conveniently located on Seward Highway on the way to Whittier, this gas station is very busy as it's located right next to a small shopping center. The gas was reasonably priced and the AM/PM type convenience store is very big and well stocked with food items, snacks, drinks... The restrooms are very clean and the clerks very friendly. Probably your best bet as a bathroom break and fill-up station. read more

This place is ok, it's not great. I come here as a last stop when I head south, or sometimes for a bathroom break heading back to Anchorage. The bathrooms are super gross and smelly. It's cool to have a liquor store connected to it, and I can get gas in a snap, but really I prefer the gas station in Bird over this place. read more

This is a nice large station with most everything you need, however the staff is not trained to fill motorhomes with propane. We backtracked from Turnagain with our motorhome to get more propane, and no one working there knew how to fill the tank. And on top of that when the girl tried to fill our tank, she managed to let out all of our remaining propane!! It's 10 degrees out and now I can't run the furnace. Needless to say I'll be skipping this station in the future. read more
