Stopped in yesterday, had to use the bathroom and gas up. Well, the men's washroom was out of order, which means, share the only one that was open. It was disgustingly dirty. Poop on top and under the lift up seat, the floor was muddy and wet. Store staff looked like they did not give a darn. So I left, and went to the much cleaner Mobile station west of this pig pen. Shame on you Speedway. Think the Des Plaines health department should be notified of this growing Petri dish. read more

I've been coming here for the past 4 month about 4 times a week since I drive with Uber and I must say the service here is absolutely the worst, they never acknowledge you by saying hello and very rarely would they say thank you. I always use my speedway cards for my monster drink and even when the screen say free drink the cashier would just ignore it unless I pointed out to them by saying I'm getting one more monster and there attitude is like whatever and they make you feel like they are doing you a favor by taking my hard earn money. Why review a gas station right? Well with gas prices always on the rise, I'm sure you are looking for a station that has a good price on gas and a decent octane level. At least we can hope most would be caring about the octane level as well since putting crap in the tank will lessen the life of your automobile. This Speedway almost always has the lowest price in comparison to most other gas stations within a four mile area. The only other gas station that could compete with their pricing would be Costco but that requires membership to pump. One would have to travel as far West and South to Wood Dale or Bensenville to get better pricing. If you start gassing up here it would behoove you to pickup their free membership card. I've been a member for a few years now and have racked in rewards like free bottles of water, fountain beverages, food and discounts on gas up to fifty cents per gallon! Which other gas company can offer that for free ? None. Fresh food items are for purchase but for me are meh. Whatever it is whether pizza slices, hot dogs or sandwiches, they have convenient pricing like 2 for $2 or 2 for 1, but I figure a place that sells gas doesn't hire chefs to manage their food. So, late one night, while I was standing in front of the refrigerated beverages, trying to make a decision, the cashier, completely unprovoked, began screaming at me, at the top of his lungs. When I turned to him, in confusion, he started barreling towards me. He was on the verge of attacking me, telling me I must be a lying bitch or a dumb bitch to have missed the sign. Ummm? What in the actual fuck? I'm not just confused by his completely gross overreaction, but I am baffled by the fact that he thinks he can talk to people like that. Not that it should matter, but I've been a customer here for years...I've never had a problem. Does the over night cashier have a disorder?! I'm mean the guy is huge and he ripped off his mask as he was screaming and chasing me out of store like I stole something. Ashley is extremely unpleasant to deal with. Overall this place has slowly been going to the dump ever since they started just hiring anybody who applies. Your employees need a some real training on decent customer service and how important. I've watched cashiers flat out disrespect customers in that place on MORE than one occasion. The owners seem like nice people but unfortunately they are letting incompetent staff with terrible attitudes drive their business to the ground and their profits with it. We stopped here during a road trip from MN-MI and back. Their fuel prices were comparable to other nearby gas stations, inside featured a wide variety of snack and drink items & the bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. Nothing negative to note about this location. Highly recommended! We'd stop here again if we were in this town passing through! read more

Ok so stop for gas and decided to grab a four buck foot long sub. Figured can't go wrong. Well I was wrong. Should have requested it to be toasted. The bread seemed underwhelming baked. The *house* sauce is along the lines of a thousand island dressing. And the meat, although piled on nicely, was too overwhelming. So I dismantled it and made a salad at home and used the overflow to body up my dinner. The price was right, but the sandwich, for me,all wrong. At the bare minimum, it did not go to waste. It is a,quick stop gas station with much to offer tho. And the guy whom made my sandwich was super nice,as well as the gal behind the check out counter. Prices for gas are 20-25 cent per gal less than in the city. All in all not a bad place, but do not think I will be buying a sub there anytime soon. read more

I drove all around my hotel looking for gas. I finally used google maps and searched for the nearest gas station. This came up on my map so I made a quick drive here. I noticed this place had really cheap gas compared to other gas stations in Chicago. I put in my American Express at the pump and pumped my gas. The simple transaction was smooth and easy. read more

We stop in for gas once in a while, as it is near our house, and often has the best pricing. The prices are always decent, if not the lowest, so if you don't have a gas price resource app and need to fill up, it's a fair place to go. The station was also rebuilt recently, and they did a decent job of utilizing the small, narrow piece of land between I-90 and Touhy. Pulling out to turn left is a pain, but turning right, you just have to wait for a break in traffic. The convenience mart is actually pretty good. They also have a counter where you can order a sandwich or other items. They often have specials where you pay only $4 for a foot long sandwich, and it's every bit as good (maybe better) than the place which advertises inexpensive footlongs! You can even get the sandwich and your drink and take them to nearby Lake Opeka where you can have a nice, inexpensive and very easy picnic! The crew is typically very helpful. Of course, there is the occasional gruff employee, but for the most part I've met very helpful men and women who take service seriously. Stop in to refuel your car and your person! It's a good local resource for gas and dinner in a pinch. read more

I have had come here many times for gas....and alot of times (9 times out of 10) it is cheaper here than anywhere else (the only other place is Thortons east of this location in Park RIdge by a penney to 6 cents less sometimes) You can use a key card to get points everytime you get gas and on this point system...you can get some stuff (meager but i been coming here for a couple of years so I have a few points accrued.) 9 times out of 10 getting gas is quick, but sometimes because it is cheaper, it can get busy so on a rare occasion I waited 5 minutes. While in there today there was a lady who was on the phone being scammed into buying a gift card to then give to said scammers. Always a great place to come get gas if you can beat the morning and evening rush from those leaving work. This is usually the cheapest gas in the area, at least that's normally the trend. But like I said it can get really packed since it's cheap. read more

Since writing my original review, the old Speedway was torn down, so all the pumps and the store are new. My only complaint is that prices can fluctuate ridiculously. Going to work the price was $1.79, and coming home it was $1.99. And I've seen even wider disparities. But on the whole their prices are okay. read more

I had the WORST experience ever in this store. My husband and I needed money orders because our credit union which is next door won't take cash. We had $1, 900.00 in cash. My husband went in and the manager told him that he could only get a $900 money order, so he told me to just go in and get a money order for the remainder. The two clerks were terrific..they were trying to print out the money order when the manager came out and told them that they couldn't . I explained about my credit union (Alliant) but he refused. He said that we were together and that was the only money order that we'd get. I wrote the company who backed him up. The problem was, I was the wrong color. I cancelled my card with Speedway and will never use another one of their stations again. read more

I love to stop there and get my drinks and gas. Every time I buy 6 drinks I get 7th for free. Speedway with its rewards program is much better than any other Gas Station. People in this station are nice and helpful. Sometimes there is a line but this way you know it is good place. It it was otherwise no-one would be there. read more

Here it goes. Short as can. Be careful at speedways new food bar. they don't pay attention to the slips, sloppy reading them or just don't cf. But what tops it is the way they handled a wrong order. You order on a screen. First time I order a panini Turkey, swiss, mayo, tomato. Didn't see them make it cause I went for a drink. Went on my way because I had a delivery and opened up a turkey, black olives and green pepper. No mayo. You really have to not be able to read for that one. Day came again I stopped no one at the counter. Person came after a minute of getting snippy with another worker. I didn't pay this time till I watched them. A regular hamburger and a panini hamburger. I watched all the right stuff go on but couldn't see the bread since the back sides were facing down in the box. When he flipped them, I saw they were both hamburger bun's. OK I'm was in a hurry and I could deal with that. I paid and took them, but when I mentioned it to the cashier to note the response was "well you should have said something" very smartly. Wrong response. I came back explaining " I couldn't see the bread type. They were in a box." At that point she rang it up when the kid from the counter stepped over to pay for something. so I politely noted to him as I took my sandwiches " I was just saying " as I pointed to the slip telling him what to ordered, what I got and that it happened before and just to check it better. Wow. With out looking at me, carrying on his purchase " why didn't you just say something". That was it. I said again now to him "the bread was in the box and I couldn't see it " and so on. In conclusion. This is the caliber of employee they hire. Most customers order on the screen and go to by other things. I saw now posting saying it is the responsibility of the custom!er to watch and or make the order him or herself This is the customer training they have. Just skip the food counter or don't pay until you open and check your order. The touch screen is no good. Don't wander off and by something else. Because they do not follow the order screen. This was twice. Not a great batting average and to boot they were pert aboit it. They are into the new age service at least at the food counter. Good for gas coffee and dounut. read more
