I talked to the owner Willie on the phone and was promised we would have time to have it in the newpaper for all 4 weeks by our appointment which is tomorrow. Since then we have received radio silence. No phone responses except to tell us to email a week ago, and since then, the line has been straight to voicemail. We are currently getting our lawyer involved, by I figured I should warn the public because either way, we won't be able to finalize our name change tomorrow.

This is a great paper and we need it. Despite the incredible hostility towards print papers and the…read morehatred from the internet in general, it's a true miracle that this paper exists. The writers are great, Steve Lopez, Sandy Banks, Bill Plaschke, Michael Hiltzick, Harry Littman, Mary McNamara, LZ Granderson, Robin Abcarian, Amy Kaufman, Gustavo Arellano, George Skelton, Mikael Wood, Mark Swed, Mark Barabak, Steve Padilla, and Editor Allison Wisk. So suck it up, sourpuss critics, most of the world loves this paper! The owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, should get an award for keeping real journalism alive. Only comment, the customer service from their 800 number needs improvement and the paper should be printed on 100% hemp paper, the same paper the U.S. Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were printed on. A lot cheaper on the environment and the LA Times could be a leader in making that change happen. Support democracy, buy a newspaper like the LA Times!

I asked them about this and they said it was a surcharge!! Scumbag paper with scumbag tainted news. Should never have subscribed in the first place, but my family likes the crosswords and comics. I have a stop payment in now with my credit card to try to end the charges, because obviously calling them and canceling has not stopped them from charging me even more money. A supervisor called me and it still did not stop: the charges I mean, because the paper is not being delivered anymore. Do not subscribe!! This is a ride you cannot get off!!

This is a small town newspaper that features local athletes & heroes from El Segundo. It shows you where to be and when to be there. It shows you when the local Farmers Markets are. It tells you everything you need to know about El Segundo. This little newspaper still has a small little Office front in El Segundo which they have to pay rent for and they distribute the newspaper for free. I mean does it get any better than that? I do not think so. I believe Heaven is El Segundo and so does the publisher of this paper.

The El Segundo Herald is a local real estate flyer with a community newsletter attached. It's headlines are always about the local little league baseball schedule or who is appearing in the local school play. It has no news af any substance and is mostly good for the bottom of the kitty litter box or for wrapping fish. Nobody reads it and it is a nuisance when it is left outside on the sidewalk. I wish they would stop printing it but since it is given away for free, the local realtors must give it enough revenue to keep it going.
