I was referred to Speedee by another automotive shop in Fremont. I came by late afternoon and the manager told me to come back first thing in the morning and told me what time they opened. The next morning I planned everything around bringing my car there and even 30 minutes before they opened. The mechanics were there but the Manager wasn't. I was told to come back. So I left my car there and waited at a nearby coffee shop for about 1.5 hours. I called and the Manager said to come by now. I walked over and found out the Manager left to run errands and so I had to wait another 40 minutes. I sat and waited inside their office/waiting room. I was hesitant at first to use Speedee Muffler as I'm sure like everyone on yelp, my decisions are based off reviews and people's past experiences. Let me tell you folks....THIS PLACE IS THAT EXCEPTION! Diving deeper into the reviews I noticed most of the negative reviews were in a time frame that warranted giving this place a shot. I called on a Monday morning and spoke with Noe (Know-E) told him about a specific exhaust project I wanted to do with my car and that if it was possible to do so. He replied by asking me to bring the car in so he can make a better judgment call which to me is a plus because anyone can lead a horse to water right? After meeting in person Noe did his assessments gave me the "nod" that "we can make it happen". He then told me that he had certain mufflers in mind but he advised me to shop for the exhaust tips myself because if he had to do it it would be a more lengthy and expensive process depending on style, material, color or worst case scenario...out of stock issues. Fast forward to showtime after getting the tips in Noe broke down exactly what type of sound or tone I wanted, sizing on the piping and miscellaneous stuff which I extremely appreciated because I felt like he wanted to nail it down just right. Talk about great customer service... After agreeing on everything the whole process took about a day or so just cuz Noe gets customers here and there and often its a quick fix which i did not mind, I was in no rush cuz I wanted it done right! The end result was spot on! Noe had me smiling from ear-to-ear. His spot welds were on point and everything was centered correctly. I've got OCD and I couldn't find one thing to nit pick. When it came time to pay the man I was shocked at his pricing, I literally felt like I was ripping him off! All in all I'm extremely happy that I disregarded those low star reviews and went this route. Noe made my vision come to life and will have my repeat business whenever I need emissions work done! He is an extremely nice guy, very communicative, knowledgeable and awesome at his craft! BTW Noe took the shop over about 3 or so years ago which explains why the rating got much better after he took over. Give this man a chance and I'm sure.....guaranteed he'll win you over!! read more

On Dec 22nd we discovered the catalytic converter in our Prius stolen, the shop, and another entity did not get it back to us until March 2nd. The day we got the car back, we immediately got the catalytic converter shield installed. It cost $2613.72 to get it fixed and I had a $500 deductible. You're better off getting the shield for $294.35 and proactively protecting yourself. Then having to wait several months to get your car back waiting for your car is a long process. read more

I stopped by during the week shortly after they opened to find out about making my Chevy louder. Neo was really helpful in suggesting my options. He didn't have time until later in the afternoon to get it done so I came back at 3:30pm the same day and hung out at the coffee shop next door until it was ready. Pretty good price for a quality job on my Saab 9-3 muffler delete. Aluminumized pipe was used, same diameter as the stock piping (2.5" in my case). I provided a tip I bought from Amazon and they welded that on as well. They also did a good job of utilizing the factory exhaust mounts. Would definitely go again if I ever wanna ditch the straight pipe and fit a muffler. read more

I was watching this guy try to pull my truck into the stall only to have another man take over and put my truck on the rack, thank god . My moms catalytic converter was stolen from her Honda. After a couple weeks of her waiting for her mechanic and insurance to make a move for her the mechanic recommended her go to Noe at speedee muffler in Fremont. They have worked together for quite some time so he highly recommended him. Getting through to speedee muffler on the phone can be a little frustrating but if you call after 10:30 someone always seems to answer. She had her car towed on a Monday and it would have been completed by Wednesday but we told them to take their time since my mom wasn't off work until Friday. She picked up Friday and the car is running perfect. Noe was friendly, professional, up front about his work load, and honest. We told him to replace whatever he absolutely needed and then also whatever he recommended. There are sensors that need to communicate properly but he stated the one that didn't get taken looked new and wasn't going to replace it. We appreciated his honesty about it. Part availability was quick with aftermarket parts and the quality of work was on point. My mom will be going here for future work needed for her exhaust system if she needs! read more

This is the muffler shop I utilize for all my company and personal vehicles! I am always treated with the great respect when I need to get exhaust work done. A few years ago, I got a muffler replaced in my car and it still is working great. It still burrs out a great sound on my little care. I have asked that they look at it and it is still fine. On this visit, I needed to replace catalytic converter, and it was done promptly by Joe, who is the main person at this shop. All of my questions have been answered honestly and with great respect! Prices have been great compared to other shops in the area. This is a local business and I have recommended it to my friends and fellow workers. This shop is located in a building housing several other automotive repair businesses. It is the last shop in the building and it is not easy to find from the street unless you are looking specifically for it! After leaving my car for a few hours, I got it back and paid for the job done. Overall, I will be returning for my exhaust work. Was recommenced here by a friend, came in and didn't really know what I was looking for. They helped me find what I was looking for quickly. cat-back on my saab and i'm happy with it to this day. ($125) 4 hours... They do however lack costumer service quality. They work slow, and need a refill on coffee about every 15 minutes. I brought a down pipe here to get welded because it had a crack on it that just got out of hand. Not only did they treat me like they just wanted me in and out but I also feel that I got over charged. C'mon $40 for a small weld patch. I've had places weld on two flanges for $60. The welds also look like he just slapped on some cottage cheese and painted it silver. The guy even admitted it was a bad job, charged me full price, and blamed it on the heat resistant sealant that was on there. Is it really that hard to use a wire brush? The weld was so bad that it opened up again and I had to ask a friend to fix it for me. More like Shidee Muffler.. read more

Well let me just start by saying that if you do go, ask for Kyle! He's the man. So I have a 05 corvette and was looking to make a meaner sound so I went to Oakland where I got my last job done for my truck but it became fishy. They quoted me $300 then went to $450 then went to $700 when they put it on to the rack not to mention all the bs he was talking about how it's hard and this and that needs to be done. Came here on Saturday after they were even closed Kyle took the time to stay and talk to me and show me options! Even started a car to show me a mean system. So he told me to come back on Monday, which I did and couldn't be more happier. We agreed on doing a straight pipe with new tips and I told him the story of what happened and even after mentioning that I was willing to spend $500-$700 he didn't take advantage of that and he charged me less then what I was expecting. Now that's what I'm taking about! If you want a fair and clean job done, come here and get it done. You won't regret it. MAKE SURE ASK FOR KYLE! Reviewed for service provided 1/19/09 (MLK Monday) I found Speedee through a quick google search and decided to drop by for a free inspection of a noisy/faulty exhaust/muffler. I had called a few other places who were willing to give a price estimate over the phone, so had an idea coming in what the services rendered would be costing me. The shop itself was a bit tricky to locate, as the signs on the street are partially blocked by trees, plus their garage is tucked way in the back of a mini-auto service strip mall. Dustin and Joe immediately crawled underneath the car with me (who wants to wait for a hydraulic lift), and diagnosed a rusty/deteriorated gasket assembly between the catalytic converter and muffler. Joe gave me a few options (all very competitively priced), but just to confirm things (moreso to help me understand which route from the options offered I should take), I departed for some second opinions. Ultimately, two other shops all said about the same, but I returned to Joe, who performed the tube replacement very promptly, answering my novice questions along the way. Overall, very satisfied and would wholeheartedly recommend Joe and Speedee Muffler for others looking to repair exhaust issues. read more

I was referred to this Speedee Muffler by Andy at Andy's Valero. I arranged for a Saturday appointment to replace the catalytic converters in my '96 Audi. I dropped the car off at 9am, and it was finished before noon. Thank you Noe! I had previously taken my car to Midas on Washington Blvd, the manager Jemino D. told me that it would cost $2000 to replace the catalytic converters (you can read my review of that Midas on Yelp, it will save you $1000s).
