I've lived in a few places, big cities, small towns, and this is one of the best garages I have ever been to. People in Silver City don't write reviews too often on big websites, so that's probably why I am the first one.
The owner, Nacho, used to teach mechanics at the local university. This is his "retirement" (I put that in quotes because they look really busy!). The mechanics at his garage are former students. There is a real cooperative atmosphere among them. They are all on board to helping out with what is wrong with your car.
Nacho is respectful and nice. I'm a woman, and I didn't feel like he was talking down to me at *all.* He's good at explaining things. So are his mechanics. I know a little bit about cars (my dad was always fixing cars and I took an auto repair class many years ago, so I get the general concepts, though I never do repair myself), and they totally talked to me at a level I could understand. They were all very cool. Like you would have fun having a beer with them, but you could still introduce them to your grandmother.
They did good work on my car, and wound up charging me a lot less than what they originally thought after they started working on it and realized there was an easier fix. How often does that happen? They could have easily not told me that.
Their prices are fair, and they guarantee the work. I have to move to go to graduate school, and I almost wish I could stay in Silver City longer, they are so amazing. They are a real jewel. read more
