When I read that the only way to preserve my soft pastel drawing without permanently altering it…read morewas to frame it in glass, I knew I had to find a quality framer. Image Arts was the solution! I worked with Jay, a very knowledgeable RISD alum who helped me look through the different framing, mat, and glass options. He also showed me what they do specially for chalk, which didn't add a whole lot more to the price. He was not only super friendly and knowledgeable, but funny and enthusiastic; an overall pleasure to work with. It was obvious that he was passionate about the work and about helping me pick the best options for the art itself - not just trying to profit. I ended up splurging on the museum glass, and I'm happy I did because it looks amazing. My chalk is now forever preserved, and they didn't damage it at all with their hands while framing it. (Chalk is super easy to mess up with a simple touch.) I am so happy with my frame job and will definitely be back for more! Thank you Jay and thank you, Image Arts!

Our business used SLS for our sign and it was a terrible experience. The owner, Mike, would not fix…read morethe errors unless we paid him more money than originally quoted, and rather than help his customer, he is blaming us for his errors. First, he was very difficult to reach throughout the process, and showed up very late to every appointment. Then, he printed our sign WITHOUT final approval on the design from us, and installed it. The lettering of our firm runs into the edge of the sign, and the alignment of our words to our logo are spaced strangely. Worse, the sign is totally illegible at night when lit, because the ink used is too light in color. When we asked him about it, he said this is a known issue with printed signs....but he never forewarned us in advance when first reviewing our design colors. For someone who has been in business a long time, he gave us no advice, no consultation and when we told him how unhappy we are he said he was keeping our deposit and won't fix the problem without us paying more than the original quote. He also charges $400 to fill out a permit form. Anyone can go online and fill out the form with some basic information from him for free- instead he charges an absolutely ridiculous fee. Our clients tell us our sign is bad, and now we are out our deposit and need to find someone new to start over with for a new sign. Stay away from SLS.

Their are 2 signs mounted in a box lite by fluorescent bulbs which need replacement every 12-18 months. I had been wanting to convert the box over to an LED system. Mike gave me such a fair price that I didn't need to look any further. He does wholesale sign installations for other companies. The new signs he produced are amazing. The LED system makes a huge difference- best move! Sign is lite with 21,000 lumens and 10x brighter and more visible at night! We couldn't be happier. Mike was extremely professional, fast and his mechanics were excellent! Streetlight Signs earned our business for life. Highly recommend them!

The prices for the shipping tape does run a little bit more than, say Target or Staples. But if you don't have a car/pay a shipping fee, then the extra 50 cents is not a big deal. Boxes here are half off compared to the UPS Store on Nassau St. Their boxes are $10 for a 18 X 18 X 18 box, while Hinkson's is $4.99. Moreover, the customer service experience a million times better than the UPS Store in town. You actually find folks smiling, helpful, and not peeved about being there. Definitely frequent Hinkson's!
