Where do I start? Well to let you know, I am a local resident and always look forward to a good time at the Spectacular Event Center. However, I have to say that I am very disappointed to be writing this review. This is how my evening went down. My wife and I bought tickets on their website to the New Year's Eve party for $125 a couple. We thought it would be a good deal because drinks were supposed to be included, unless you order anything above the cheapest booze you can think of. So the party is supposed to start at 7:00 or so and my wife and I arrived just after 8:00. The parking lot was nearly empty(about 15-20 cars). As we enter the first thing we notice is several people dressed in "Dad" jeans and unfashionable shirts untucked. I only say this because the website said "properly dressed." It was bad, trust me. The greeter then tells us that the buffet that was included in the $125 was closing in 5 minutes! What the hell! So we went to a desolate room with nobody around and looked over the food. Discription: Everything was in silver pans sizzling. NO JUICES, NO MOISTURE, DRIED CHICKEN, DRIED MASHED POTATOES, WITHERED CORN, and other things similar that I didn't even bother looking at. It was absolutely disgusting and we were so looking forward to a nice meal together. We're not done yet! My wife and I find our table and are completely confused because in the past one room had a DJ and the other room had a live band. It was awesome. Furthermore, There were 3 bars open, which made getting a drink a snap. Not even kidding, our first drink led us to a line that was over 40 people deep and at least a 30-45 wait! It was so bad that they opened a table in the lobby and started handing out beer. At least there was something, just very disorganized. After our first drink, Long Island Ice Tea, I go back to get another from the woman bartender and she grabs the cheap ass plastic GIN bottle and proceeds to fill the plastic cup with 95% alcohol and a tiny splash of Coke. I called her on it and said, "What the hell is that. That is nothing like the other guy made last time. Isn't there supposed to a little sweet and sour in that?" She said, "This is a premixed Long Island." So I went with it and took a swig. All I can say is she was completely full of shit! It was puuuuuuuuure alcohol. If I had drank that it would have completely destroyed my night. Still not done yet. As we drank we let the little stuff slide...if you call it little for $125. At midnight my wife is dancing on the floor with her girlfriends and I took a break for literally 2 minutes when I hear the DJ say 10, 9,.....3, 2,1 Happy New Year! What no 5 minutes till New Years, no 1 minute till New Years. I scrambled like a bastard to find my wife but it was to late. 10 seconds gave her time to come to the table and me to go the the dance floor. We eventually found each other but it was completely a disorganized, unprofessional, cluster F**K! I really mean this when I say do not waste your time and look elsewhere. Pathetic! Absolutely Pathetic. They'll be closed in no time. I have nothing to gain or lose by saying that. read more
