I would give zero stars if that were an option…read more Save yourself the time, effort and sanity by avoiding this company at all costs. Timeline: A "two-day project" turned into a four month project that still isn't finished. After months of no-shows and rescheduling without notice, we finally decided to fire them and cut our losses. Quality: The quality is so bad that we now need to hire another company to tear out their work to do it properly, costing us way more money than it would have if we had used a good company in the first place. We even had a city inspector come take a look and he was shocked at how poorly they did on our concrete work. Communication: Non-existent. The most they communicated was when they showed up at small claims court as we tried to regain our losses.

Early April: Made contact to initiate a quote on the project. Grading, Hydroseeding, Aerating, move…read more4 downspouts underground, and pouring a new sidewalk. Was told the project needed to be initiated by 15 May. The estimator, Travis, recommended moving the downspout extensions underground and out to the sidewalk, so the rain will not washout the hydroseed. May 18: Emailed about the timeline. I was told they would be at my house June 2. May 21: Received revised estimate with additional concrete and downspouts. June 1: Emailed with Marie to verify they would be there June 2. June 2: No Call No Show. Marie emails that they will be there June 8 and the project will take 2 days. June 8: No call No show. Travis tells me "I don't know who told you I would be here today I have you on the schedule for next week." June 16: No call No show. Marie tells me she has no idea where they are. Speak with owner, tells me he will be there on 21June. June 21: One guy showed up. Works for less than an hour. July 5: Crew poured the concrete. Buries 6 of the 7 downspouts. The crew also steals 4 of the 6 downspout extensions that I had intended to keep and use. Additionally, when they put the extensions underground, they only extended them out a few feet. They didn't move them out to the sidewalk in order to prevent the hydroseed from washing away - which is what they recommended in the first place. July 10: Crew returned to remove forms off of the concrete. I notified the crew that they missed one of the downspouts. Crew departs without removing forms from the back sidewalk. I go out to inspect the sidewalk and see that the steps have already broken off from each other and the steps are unequal in height and not to code. The sidewalk is not level with the house steps or the street sidewalk and crooked. For these 3 weeks the USPS would not deliver my mail due to the mess. July 11: Travis says that they will pour a cap over the broken steps to fix the issue. I ask about Iowa's freezing winters allowing water behind the cap and breaking the cap off. He says he has no concern. July 30: No crew has showed up yet to fix the steps. I call the city of Des Moines sidewalk inspectors and discuss the issues with the steps. They advise against a cap and say they will be out to inspect the steps. I notify Travis. He says that they will rip out the steps and re-pour them. I remind him off all of the issues I have undergone in getting this project done and express distrust in his ability to get the job finished. He tells me not to worry "I am on the schedule." I inquire "what day?" I am told he "we will be out Aug 4 to work on the steps." I ask when will the project be completed. I get no response. Aug 4: No call no show. I call and tell the owner he is fired. They need to come pick up their debris, concrete forms, construction cones, etc. That I also wanted my downspout extensions returned. That I want my full deposit returned. He tells me he had no idea about all of the problems that were going on and offers to fix the issues. I decline. He says they will be out to pick up the debris. Aug 5: Crew shows up and picks up most of the debris. Some chunks of the original sidewalk were still left in the yard. Owner says he will go back to the office and figure out how much I owe as compared to the deposit. I told him I don't think I should have to pay anything. My home is now for the worse since they have been there. My sidewalk is now dangerous due to being out of code and broken worse than before. Not all of my downspouts were moved underground or to the length I asked. Additionally, when the crews dug through my flower beds to install the drain tile they didn't rake away the mulch first, so I also get to repair the flower beds. They didn't aerate, re-grade, or hydroseed. The only thing they did close to correct was pour the concrete piece in the back, of which I had to remove the forms, backfill the edges, and pick up the dirt/concrete that they just left in my drive. And lastly, I am still missing 4 of my 6 downspout extensions.
