The paddle felt off right out of the packaging, and we simply requested an even exchange. The store manager, Angela or Angelica, was unhelpful and dismissive throughout the interaction. They brought out a replacement paddle from the back that had clearly been opened, dirty and the face of the paddle had clear signs of use. The handle wrap was missing and dirty. We asked for another, pointing out that this one had no original packaging either. When doing the exchange she told us that without the original wrapping, our paddle couldn't be resold and therefore couldn't be exchanged. When we mentioned that they were just about to give us a paddle in the same unwrapped condition, she had no response. We also pulled up the official return policy, which states: "For other items, we may accept returns for items that are clean and in good condition, even if they have been opened, tried on, or tested." There is no mention that pickleball paddles are excluded or that original packaging is required for these items. Despite calmly explaining our position, she told us, "Being difficult is not going to get you anywhere," even though we repeatedly made it clear that we weren't trying to be difficult we were just asking for fairness. She finally agreed to the exchange, but not without saying, "I'm going to do this one time, but don't do it again," in a tone that felt more like we were children being reprimanded than paying customers. Overall, this was an unprofessional and frustrating experience. We expected consistency with store policy and basic respect neither of which we received.

When we unpacked the tricep the arm literally fell off. Upon inspection by a welder I was informed that the machines arm was only tac welded and never finished with the proper welding. After sending photos to the sales rep I was told that it was pretty obvious that we broke the machine. After showing the report and weeks of being ignored they finally agreed that it was a manufacturer defect they tell me that If I want I can hire a welder and have it fixed at their cost. We of course deny this moronic suggestion and ask that they take it back. They try and get us to pay for shipping. We finally get them to come and get the machine. Weeks pass. I finally get tired of being ignored by their sales rep and ask to talk with the owner. The owner calls me and apologizes promising he will make everything right and get me my machine. Weeks pass again with no contact. I contact the owner and just ask for a refund for the tricep and chest machine. He promises he will issue a refund. More weeks pass with no contact. I call back and he is now ignoring me with no return calls or messages. They are trying to just keep our money for a chest machine, tricep, and the shipping costs we pre-paid for a total of over 5k. I have contacted Gym Leco, that is the manufacturer of the equipment we purchased through Best Used Gym Equipment, and they are also ignoring us. I guess apples don't fall to far from trees. It takes a lot for me to attack another persons business but this company has been one of the worst gym equipment purchase process I have done in the 9 years and buying over 100+ machines I have ever been through. They have earned my efforts in making sure that anyone in the gym business knows about them and how they treat people.
