Extremely Disappointing Experience with Auto Glass- Glass Doctor Midvale, Utah -- $1,500 in Damage…read moreAfter a Simple Rock Chip Repair I was warned about Glass Doctor for two reasons: their prices were reportedly higher than competitors, and there were concerns about their business practices. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning why I chose to do business with them in the first place. I brought my RV to Glass Doctor for a warranty rock chip repair. I had previously paid for a chip repair there and was told that subsequent rock chip repairs would be covered for life. I trusted that promise and returned expecting a simple, routine repair. Instead, my $1,500 RV windshield cracked during the repair process. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that an employee assisting the technician was involved in the process (the receptionist), and I have serious concerns about whether the repair was performed properly. A routine rock chip repair should not leave a customer facing a $1,500 windshield replacement bill with the excuse "it happens". To make matters worse, Glass Doctor has a policy stating it is not responsible for damage caused while performing a chip repair. That policy does not eliminate my concerns about the quality of the work, the circumstances surrounding the damage, or whether the repair was handled appropriately. A waiver should not be a substitute for accountability (conflict of interest). The timing is particularly troubling: I returned for a repair they had promised to cover under their lifetime warranty, and I left facing a $1,500 windshield replacement. Glass Doctor was then willing to sell me a new windshield for that amount. Again, conflict of interest? I cannot help but question how this situation was handled and whether proper care was taken during the repair. I cannot prove anyone intended to cause this damage, but the circumstances have left me with serious concerns. I chose Glass Doctor because I believed their lifetime chip repair offer was a benefit. Instead, I am dealing with a costly dispute over damage that occurred while my RV was in their care. I would strongly caution other RV owners to think carefully before trusting Glass Doctor with an expensive windshield. Ask detailed questions about their liability policy, what happens if a chip repair causes a crack, and what protections you actually have before allowing work to begin. Get everything in writing. This matter is not resolved, and we are pursuing it through the appropriate legal process. I expect businesses to stand behind the quality of their work and take responsibility when legitimate concerns arise. Based on my experience, Do Not Do Business with Glass Doctor, Midvale, Utah. A promised warranty repair should not turn into a $1,500 headache. I am a retired Marine Corps Veteran and Law Enforcement Officer. Captain Scott Montefusco USMC

I do not typically leave business reviews. I am posting this for others to be informed and to…read moresummarize the service issues I encountered. When obtaining quotes for a windshield replacement, this company was not the lowest bidder. I selected them because they represented themselves as providing high-quality service and cited a national accreditation. Service was scheduled for December 4, 2025. Prior to the replacement, I informed the technician that a dash camera was mounted on the windshield. He stated this would not be an issue and that he would remove it, with the understanding that I would reinstall it after the replacement. During the installation, the technician cracked the windshield from the interior while attempting to attach the rearview mirror. I understood that mistakes occur, and it was agreed that the windshield would be replaced the following day. On December 5, 2025, the windshield was replaced a second time. After the technician left, I discovered that the windshield wipers did not work. This occurred during a storm, and I had to wait over an hour for a third visit to correct the issue. I was informed that the wipers had not been reinstalled properly on the gearbox. After these visits, I was left to vacuum glass shards from the first broken windshield out of the vehicle. On December 21, 2025, when I attempted to reinstall the dash camera using the USB cable that had been left accessible near the headliner as agreed, the device did not receive power. It was later determined that the dash camera wiring had been damaged during one of the windshield replacements, causing a short and a blown fuse. The damaged wires appeared to have been twisted back together and tucked into the headliner, which was extremely concerning. On December 22, 2025, I requested a call from the business owner to discuss these issues. Instead, I received a text message stating that safety concerns are taken seriously and that I would be contacted shortly. No further contact occurred until January 7, 2026, when I was informed that the company would not accept responsibility for the wiring damage but offered a negligible discount for the windshield. I declined the discount and was seeking acknowledgment of responsibility rather than continued deflection. I can only hope this experience is an outlier. The attached video (explicative warning) shows the dash camera functioning at the time it recorded the initial windshield cracking during installation, and the attached photo shows the damaged wiring as discovered. There are additional and unfortunate details, but I am only summarizing the main issues and am ready to move on. Altogether, this turned into multiple appointments, follow-ups, cleanup, and troubleshooting that took far more of my time and energy than I could have ever imagined.
