Very displeased with the work this company did. We had an iPad Air with a shattered screen and took it to Spec Tec to have the screen replaced. They replaced the screen, but didn't center it properly, so that when it was put back in the case, the case pressed against the volume buttons. The off-center positioning of the replacement screen also caused the home button to stop working and a quarter of the screen no long registers touch. The iPad actually worked better before the "repairs" - it was in a case, so was still usable even with a broken screen. Now the home button and a quarter of the screen don't work at all. After several phone calls, Spec Tec finally responded and promised they would replace the screen (theoretically properly this time), thus fixing the problems that weren't present until after they "fixed" the screen. They told us they'd call us when the replacement screen came in. Well, it's been over a month, and still no call, and we still have a broken iPad. So I guess we'll be paying for someone else to fix the screen, and recommending that you find someplace else to go for your electronics repairs. Because if they can't even properly replace an iPad screen, a task that I'd think would be fairly simple for someone who's in the computer repair business, I CERTAINLY wouldn't trust them with a more complicated job. read more

Back to school season was quite rough with me working 60+ hours per week as well as my wife getting a new job. Even then, our family was still barely making ends meet. When my daughters school mandated laptop started having temperature issues, I thought that we were truly in trouble when I received quotes for $300+. I was lucky enough to find this business when they quoted the work for $75 dollars. The work was done within 2 days, and my daughter has a working laptop for school once more. I went to this place to get my PlayStation fixed n it wasn't professional in anyway. They kept doing a "temporary fix" they knew wouldn't work so I would have to keep paying $150 and they broke the outside case on my PlayStation. Instead of replacing it they super glued it and didn't tell me until the next time I had to go back to get it fixed again. The place was stinky and they were not very friendly. I would not recommend this business. I took my computer to Jason and he rendered it inoperable. I called him for over a week and could never reach him because he refused to answer either of his phones. When I finally did reach him, we scheduled an appointment for him to fix the problem. I made a special trip into Cadillac and I arrived at our scheduled time but he was not there, I also went back an hour later after a previously scheduled appointment and he still was not there. Sec Tec Computers was awesome had my laptop at a local repair place in Houghton Lake Mi for 6 months with no end in site. Decided to take it to Spec Tec in Cadillac Mi while I was standing informing Jason of the problem he ordered the part and with 6 days which includes a weekend it was fixed and working great. Prices were competitive, service was great. Taking my other two laptops to him in the coming weeks to be fixed. Awesome! read more
