Fresh and tasty Florida Gulf coast oysters, as good as they get!
    Dale O.

We stopped in to pick up some oysters late on a Monday, afraid that there wouldn't be any available since the other location south of town had sold out.. We needn't have worried. For $20 we scored a half bushel of the tastiest, freshest oysters I've ever seen. Larger and smaller quantities are available at equally reasonable prices. Since we try to buy locally produced or sustainable food whenever we can, we were pleased to see some very fresh whole Gulf mullet for only $2.50 a pound, as well as ready to cook whole farm raised catfish for only $2.99 a pound. There is a good selection of other fish and wild caught Florida Gulf shrimp, as well as blue crabs and the obligatory frozen snow crab legs, too. This busy market is clean, with no fishy odor, so I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I need seafood. No supermarket chain can match their quality, and certainly not at these prices!

My go to for oysters in the Capital City. Make sure you bring a cooler so they can ice the oysters down before you leave!

So disappointed. Paid $5/lb for "live" crawfish. They were all dead when I got home - 10 minutes away. Never going back again.

I originally asked for 2 lbs. That's not how they sell 'em, the cashier explained patiently. I looked at the $12 "peck" and asked how many we could expect, thinking maybe 2 dozen. "3 to 5 dozen," the cashier nodded. Holy crap. I ultimately bought "2 dozen" for $8, which in the end was probably closer to 40 total oysters. They were fresh, salty sweet, and fabulous. Today we actually DID buy a full peck. Considering how often we pick up our oyster knives and dig in that bag, though, they might not make it home!

But trust me, Mike's seafood on capital circle is the best way to go. Because Spears seafood fish market do not know how to clean fish, they don't care they leave it nasty but Mike's seafood on capital circle is the best they clean it real good all you have to do is rinse it off when you get home season it fry and enjoy. Spears seafood market, you got to clean it scrape it, get the veins the guts and the blood out of it every time all the time, almost like you should have just bought it hold and clean it yourself. But at Mike's seafood on capital circle you don't have to do none of that take note Spears learn how to treat your customers instead of treating them like you think less of them because I have bought fish from you and I Stay a few blocks from you and I'll go 10 to 20 miles even to sopchoppy down by the water to get fish before I get it from Spears fishmarket again. learn how to treat your customers Spears seafood market with respect with the product that is better for them clean with healthy quality food. other than that they need to stop doing business with you like I have and just let you sit down and keep your dangerous contaminated seafood it will be harming my people

The salsa was definitely from a jar, but the queso was pretty good, I dipped my chips and fries into it. The hush puppies were not very good in my opinion, but again I'm blaming it on being towards the end of the night. The coleslaw was decent, not the most flavor. The savior of all was the 'fried fish Friday' deal, 1/2 lb of fried fish for $10, which is a great deal, but made me assume it wouldn't be the best. I was wrong, compliments to the cook, the fish was AMAZING! It was crispy but still so juicy and tender. I would go back and just get the fish, plus the 2 sauces given with it, I'm not even sure what they were, but they were so good and definitely made in restaurant.
