I have two small dogs and a kitten and I have gone to SS&NN for all of them and had a positive experience each time. I spayed my Coco Honey, a mini dachshund, through them earlier this year and the process was painless for both her and I - not to mention way more affordable than going to our vet in DC. I also took my new kitten Luna Momo, who I adopted through one of their affliated adoption programs, for her vaccinations there. I was able to walk in and out within 20 minutes and she was good to go. Overall SS&NN is well run, the staff is stellar and it is affordable. Definitely recommend to DMV pet owners. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my puppy to be spayed on 1/22/25. I was concerned she may be going into heat so I contacted the office 1/13/2025, the young lady who answered the phone with an attitude explained there would be additional charges and she couldn't tell me how much because it would be determined by what stage she was in, she explained I keep my deposit and I could reschedule but it wouldn't be until much later. This weekend our puppy started bleeding so we knew for a fact that she was in heat now. I called the office this morning at 7:00AM when they opened to try and get more of an estimated price since we knew she was actually in heat and bleeding and also to see if it was safer to hold off until she was no longer in heat. I was given attitude by Dr. Andrulis who stated that she could reschedule her but would have to take my deposit and I would have to put down another deposit to save that spot. I wasn't understanding why my deposit would have to be taken from me since I was told before that it could be used for rescheduling. I was genuinely concerned about my puppy being in heat and was greeted with attitude from the head veterinarian. Even though she was the one with the attitude, she accused me of yelling which I wasn't even the slightest and it was all recorded. The appointment was still supposed to be for tomorrow. I received an email at 7:50AM stated that I received a refund for the services I was requesting. I called back to the office to only be told that Dr. Andrulis cancelled my appointment because SHE didn't feel comfortable. I find it completely unprofessional to cancel an appointment because she was offended that I asked a question about the safety of my animal. read more

I was referred to Spray Spa & Neuter Nook by a neighbor. I was really nervous because this was my baby and I was dropping him off to strangers. Everything was extremely well discussed ( read Everything on the website) and everything from dropping Simba off, to receiving a call from the doctor who performed his procedure to being given clear post surgical instructions on care more than once went off flawlessly. I found everything went like 123 just as I was told it would. 4 days since post op for Simba and he is doing so well. He only seemed to needed 3 pain pills which was administered with the written instructions. Simba is a licker so at night or when he can't be closely watch, I have to put on the collar. I have taken two canine friends here one male and one female, I could not have been more please. They were very accommodating I brought my guys in at 7 am and picked them up around noon and it did not break the bank. The fees were more than fare one quarter of what my vet in NoVa wanted to charge! I also liked going because that is all they do so they have more than enough experience spaying and neutering. My vet may do one a week if she's lucky. Love this place and have referred many friends there who have loved it too! Highly recommend. read more

The employees were incredibly helpful and professional in handling my fur baby. Everything was straight-forward from the start and the appointment was hassle-free to make. I felt a peace of mind when I dropped off my dog for his surgery, and the best part was that it was so cheap. It almost seems too good to be true, yet I received outstanding service at a very valuable and reasonable price. I would recommend this to all of my friends who own pets because they specialize in these surgeries, and have plenty of experience. I got my dog neutered, microchipped, and some pain medications to take home. They sell collars to prevent dogs from licking their incisions, but I bought my own inflatable (and more comfortable) collar from a local pet store. The experience went as smoothly as possible, and I even received a phone call telling me I could pick up my dog 2 hours earlier than expected, full with updates and answers to all of my questions. The highlight of my experience here came when it was time to pay for my pet's services. They had a promotional period called "Happy Neuter Year" going on for canine neutering for $20. I expected to pay over $100 for everything (even though $100 for neutering is STILL a steal), but ended up paying only $60. Though this is a bit of a commute (1 hour) from where I live, I can happily say that this clinic is well worth it and I completely trust them. read more

My dog got spayed here today. Originally we were suppose to get this done in March but coronavirus had us pushed back to June! They called us as soon as they opened up to get us in ASAP. Unfortunately my dog went into heat. The receptionist was excellent and informed us it's higher risk to do it during heat and helped us select the safest date for our dog. Today on arrival we were asked to call when we arrived. They reviewed her information and then someone came out to the parking lot to get the dog. The woman who got Our dog was cheerful and immediately eased our dogs fears of going with her. My dog left with her willingly and wagging her tail. We were given a slip with the assigned pick up time and told we could call after 12:00pm to get an update. The only complaint I had was when we called after 12:00 the phone line sent ya straight to voicemail so we weren't able to get an update. We came at our assigned time to pick her up and she was brought out. She was wagging her tail to the car and clearly well taken care of. She did have pee on her legs, but I assume she had an accident in the recovery room. No biggie. Our dog is currently resting and is comfortable. The incision looks good and she's not in pain. read more

I took my 6 month old Morkie pup in for spaying in Nov 2017! The staff was beyond wonderful......from the initial phone call to the drop of to pick up of our Abbington May. My kitty was brought to this facility for her spay through a program so I didn't get to see inside or speak to any of the employees but that was okay. She came back to me in great condition, she had since healed and has been doing great. A friend of mine also used another program who went to this facility and his animal received the same care. This place is AMAZING! We took our 3 month old pup and her spaying went even better than we expected it too. We also had to take the right steps to get there on time per their policy but since she was ready by noon and was doing well, we were able to make during our lunch break. It was such a smooth process that we were so satisfied. She healed literally by the next day. We were able to get her spaying, meds, nails trimmed, a shot, microchip, all for less than $150. Thats even with us donating money. That was 1/4 of the price our vet was charging here in Fairfax, VA. The check-in process was so smooth. I love how they provide updates after the procedure. I have recommended ALL of my friends/colleagues/family. I too was recommended by two friends and I plan to bring all of our pets here. We also plan to donate for this great cause whenever we get the chance! My husband and I did not mind the 1+ drive as it was completely worth it. read more

However my Great Dane was scheduled for a spay in which I dropped her off-after dropping her off I called back to inform the front desk about my choice of pain meds recommended by my primary vet, Not even 40 minutes after dropping her I received a call saying I needed to come pick up my dog because she had a heart murmur, Now to be clear my dog was just hat the vet, I think they would've told me that she has a heart murmur... I than scheduled another appointment for at my Primary Vet, They had 3 doctors listen to my dog heart.. NO HEART MURMUR was found, I than asked If I my vet cleared her would they do the surgery, they elected not to which is fine..they should really consider their education when diagnosing people's pets. If you can spare the time.. choose wisely. Front Desk was nice.. But the Dr. Murdock was the doctor that diagnosed my dog with false information. read more

This place was a life savor for me. My dog Lexi gave me a scare over a weekend and it was impossible for me to find a place in DC & immediate surrounding areas to get her spayed. Everything was either booked or overly expensive. Can't recall how I found this place but I took my chance, called on Monday and was able to book something that same week. The staff was very professional, loving and caring and they took great care of my girl. I dropped Lexi off at 7:30 AM and picked her up around 2:30 PM. As you can imagine she was in pain but she looked fine. They gave me some goodies for her and I bought an e-collar from them for $15, which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. The surgery cost me only $110, which is a very very good price because everywhere else was $300+. I recommend this place, you can believe that your pets will be in good hands. read more

But I'm annoyed and pissed off because when I arrived exactly at 4, that ladies in the front charged me $20 for the late fee which is ridiculous because even if I was 1 minute late, it would still be ridiculously stupid that I'd get charged that much especially since I was already paying $110 for everything for my dog. I know it may sound ridiculous that I'm complaining but as a broke college student, it's alot but I had to do what I needed for the love I have for my dog. I didn't want to argue with the ladies at the desk because I knew I'd only go there once and never go back again. So thankful for the Spay Spa! We rescued our lab mix pup in May and were having trouble finding an open, affordable place to get her spayed until we found Spay Spa! They were quick to respond to our emails and were so great at communicating with us before, during, and after our appointment. Our vet recommended an additional procedure for our puppy and the staff at Spay Spa really went out of their way to reach out to our vet for our dog's records which we so appreciated. The drop off/pickup on the day of the surgery was so well organized, you can tell that they have a great system in place despite all the craziness going on right now! The day after our pup's surgery, I noticed some swelling/redness under the bandages on one of her paws (she had dewclaws removed in addition to her spay), so at 8pm I called and left a message but within minutes the vet texted me back asking for more information, and then called me to talk me through what to do. This review is a review prior to surgery scheduled June 11, 2020. I have a kitten named BEAUTIFUL who is scheduled for her spay and her shots. I came across this company on the Internet I gave them a call and the lady returned my CALL. It was so warming to speak to such a joyful soul. She made me feel so comfortable about bringing my kitten who has started going in heat during the pandemic in March in every 6 to 10 days she's in heat again seriously. When we get a break my family enjoys the break because she's back to her old playful, happy, joyful self. My fear is Bringing my kitten in on June 11 in her possibly being in heat again. Because although they can do the Spay while she's in heat there are Risk factors. The lady over the phone rest a sured and put my heart at ease by telling me that she uses some of the best VETS in the area. I cannot wait to get this done and over with and get my little for baby back home well and ready to strive towards adulthood. I will update yelp when we have our visit. So again my visit is based on just the initial phone call and set up and that's a big plus customer service means a lot to me. read more
