This is currently happening to me right now. Horrible business. I had the same issues that so many have commented on in other reviews. When my mom passed away, I needed to only have the date of death inscribed on the stone. The stone was purchased many years ago at Giordano's when my dad passed away . My mom's name and date of birth were already inscribed on the stone. We were told at that time, when my mom passed, the date of death would be inscribed at no cost as part of the original purchase. After going back and forth for months with this company, I went to another company. They would not honor the original agreement and were going to charge me. They are impossible to reach, despite leaving several messages. Funny they still have the Giordano name attached to the business , but don't honor it. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. It took two years to get the date of death to be put on stone. The order was placed and paid for in July 2022. Many calls not answered and even going back to get answers. I would not do business with this company again. read more

I ordered a stone for my husband on 5/31/22. It's now 6/6/23 and no stone. They do nothing but lie and make promises they don't keep. They don't return phone calls and we have to visit them in person to get answers, and then they gas light you. We only went there because of the former trusted Giordano name. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!! I gave one star because I can't give them a negative 1,000. Our mother passed away in October 2022. It took the 10 months to engrave her date of death on and existing head stone. They took our money right away. We heard every BS line in the book. They are a bunch of no-good liars!!! Phone calls and emails were not returned. It only adds insult to injury. proceed with caution!! they do not return calls!! they will take your money and not do the work!! these are the worst in the business! i paid them in advance to enter a date of death on a tombstone. 4 months later the work was not done. i continuously called. i was told the work was scheduled - never done. i finally went there and demanded a refund. i contacted another momument company, the work was completed on schedule and was over $100 less expensive! spartan monuments is the worst, take your business somewhere else, save yourself a headache and aggravation! read more

Rude, Unsympathetic, Unreasonable, Untrustworthy... My father had a prepaid headstone with this business in 2004, It took quite a while for them to return my calls, and typically no one answered at the shop. I finally got a hold of Eric Reichbart and he agreed to do what he could. He sent me an invoice for $4000 and I reminded of the prepaid headstone. He kept trying to convince me that they were not responsible for the previous owners commitments. and then we started to negotiate. After talking with a lawyer, I was advised they are responsible for the previous commitments and I called and talked to Eric's wife Pam, and she was horribly rude to me, combative after 15 mins she said you want to buy a headstone or not, I have to go. I said I said I wanted to resolve the issue and she hung up. My fathers wishes was that things would be handled for the family so that we did not need to worry about the expense or hassle of arrangements. So he prepaid for everything. The burial site, the funeral services and monument were all prepaid in 2004, transactions with those other companies went without issue. The website it says "We are a family owned and operated business established in 1921 and serving the community for four generations" They agreed they have the paperwork from my father, acknowledge the payment, they have been nothing but combative about this. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. They knowingly take advantage of people when they are grieving and vulnerable. They take you through a monument design process where you tell them what you want, then tell you that you need to pay at least half of the payment upfront (which you actually do not, but when you are grieving you are not really reading the contract that closely and you are not expecting to be taken advantage of). They promise to follow up with you in a wk with some design options- but then you never hear from them and can not reach them. Calls, emails and text messages have been ignored for over a month. After our experience and reading about others, it seems like a thought out scam where they charge you upfront, then ignore people long enough to rely on them giving up and walking away from their deposit. Giordano's was always an honest and reputable company and we were not aware that it was sold. Eric Reichbart is the owner and Eric Schulte is the sales rep. that we worked with. Read the Google reviews, the owner's responses to all the negative comments says it all. Eric Reichbart took over the business in 2017 from the Giordano's who were wonderful. Eric was the engraver. I've been familiar with the family and the business for 45 years. Since the takeover Eric has been receiving numerous complaints. He's disingenuous. Nine months to do my mother's engraving. Immediate complaints from family and friends on quality. I met with Eric several times for over a year, each time he acknowledged and promised to repair defects and flaws. Nearly two years later and he doesn't respond to my emails. No repairs done. Subsequent contact in Sept,through Dec. 2018 has proven interesting, with Mr. Reichbart disavowing his earlier admission and promises with contradictions, "There is nothing wrong with the engraving" and characterizing me as "a difficult person." Three professional and reputable engravers have examined. All agreed engraving was not done in a manner consistent with professional standards and all recommend resurfacing of the monument and restoring the engraving. At a time of grief I didn't find them helpful during this process or timely for the layout or proof. I will NOT recommend them to anyone.
