While he was hospitalized, I received text updates at least twice a day and a few photos which was comforting. As grieving pet owners, we deserved honest answers and understanding--not impatience and dismissal. He also only spent a handful of minutes with our cat! After our decision was made to put down our cat and he administered the medication, I told him directly that he needed to show more empathy to families going through one of the worst moments of their lives. His response was to simply walk out of the room without saying a word. That level of disregard was shocking. What made this even more concerning was hearing from veterinary technicians at the hospital that complaints about his bedside manner are common. If this is a recurring issue, then management has chosen to tolerate it rather than address it. I am nine months pregnant, emotionally exhausted, and will never forget how cold and uncaring this experience was. Losing a pet is heartbreaking enough. No family should have to endure being treated like an inconvenience while making such a painful decision. To the owner and management of this practice: charging premium emergency prices comes with the responsibility of providing compassionate, professional care. Allowing this type of treatment to continue reflects poorly on your entire hospital. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this emergency clinic to anyone seeking kindness or support during one of the most difficult moments of pet ownership.
