Having a credit balance I canceled my internet service with Sparklight because I moved out of state. At the time of my cancelation the customer service person indicated i would receive my refund in the next couple of weeks. After three weeks I still have not received my refund so I called the local office in Show Low, AZ again. The customer service person conveyed that refund was approved and I should recieve check in the mail next week. A week has come and gone so I called customer service again. Now I am being told that checks are only issued once a month and I will receive check in about 4 weeks. Sparklight customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. These guys are scam artists and the service they provide is terrible. I've called numerous times regarding my subscription only to be told their computer system is down and they can't help me. They said I had to call them back later versus them calling me back when their computer system was back up. Horrible customer service and their monthly rates are the highest around. Good luck if you decide to use their internet service and watch your bank account since they want to dip into your account monthly for a virtually wasteful customer service who are not trained to provide any support. Also, their auto answering service only works occasionally so when it tells to to press a number for a particular service, it usually doesn't work. I spent 27 minutes talking to someone this morning to change a password and no resolution, so I just hung up. They are the only high-speed provider in this area and they know it. I Reviewed my Sparklight, formally Cable One Bill and Investigated & Compared Advertised Charges for Internet and TV and found that I've been paying MUCH MORE than what New Customers are being offered. I have been with Cable One/Sparklight since 2003 and feel that I've been taken advantage of BECAUSE I am a longstanding Customer. Its obvious that Loyalty comes with LESS VALUE at Sparklight when it should really come with Benefits!! Since 2003 many other Options have become available as it relates to Internet and TV so now I am on the Hunt and early results on my search have produced LESS EXPENSIVE Services that provide MORE Channels as it relates to TV and MORE Bandwidth as it relates to Internet. We were having limitations with our wifi range. Sparklight sent out a great technician, Cody T, who addressed all our issues. He was able to great improve the signal to our home, upgraded our modem and router, and added Eeros to greatly improve our wifi performance and range. He was prompt, professional and very courteous. Signed up for Starklight TV in May and have NOTHING but problems! Called multiple times and had 3 techs come out over a 3 month period ( 2 just this month)! Final straw was service tech (who was great!) just came out on 8/26 and now 2 days later , it's down AGAIN!! read more

Again, with Sparklight, we cannot get through a 30 minute cartoon when my grandson is visiting. constant freezes and buffering when any video, live tv, streaming is on as well as the regularly scheduled 12,3,6,9,12 interruptions daily. as you can see from the pics the service speed is slow and inadequate! the pics are 1min apart. btw, with Sparklight service this review take several tries and about 20-30 mins! read more

I became an internet customer many years ago: Sparklight to Cable One now back to Sparklight, whatever the company calls itself now. I finally decided to cancel the service b/c I was only using the internet approx six weekends a year. The last year I used it a total of two weekends for the entire year, yet paid $65 monthly. I cancelled the service, however before cancellation I was offered three alternatives: the "Seasonal Package," keeping my current package that includes a choice of pausing service 4xs per year without penalty, or the "Pay as you Go" package. I declined all during the call and cancelled service. I later decided to call back for the "Pay as you Go" package. I was transferred four times after extended holds. Each rep told me that I was transferred to the wrong department after trying to upsell me. Finally, I was told by the 4th rep that the "Pay as you Go" package is not offered in the Show Low area despite being recommended to me during my initial cancellation call. It's also offered online. The 4th representative told me that she could transfer me to another department to confirm if it's offered, and I declined. I went online and signed up for the "Pay as you Go" for $35 monthly. I used the service for 24 hours, and unplugged the modem before leaving until winter. The internet service is horrible now. It's choppy and frequently freezes. There's no instructions on how to pause the service? It makes too much sense to allow "Pay as you Go" customers to just log into their account and pause/ unpause service. It's Sunday, unfortunately, I can only reach customer service during weekday hours to permanently cancel service. The family will just go without internet. We are up in Show Low about 5 months a year. We have had no problems with the internet and our television with ROKU works fine.

Works best in area, but has constant outages for 20+ minutes (when its sprinkling outside)

We moved to the area recently and needed an internet provider. Loren came out within a day of calling to set up our internet. He was exceptionally nice and professional. He recommended the best way to install the coaxial cable and did so within a short amount of time. He caulked the holes where the cable went through. It works very well. We opted for the slowest speed trying to start with low payment. Then maybe later move toward a faster speed but it's good the way it is now. Spark light has been to our home 3 or 4 times to hook up our TV, telephone and internet. Add to that many phone calls. We have had internet and phone approximately 3 Days out of the 10 and our telephone number has been changed twice during that time. We are told they "are working on it" but it went out on Friday and they have been closed through the weekend and also today. Very frustrating!! On the other hand their personnel are very pleasant both over the phone and the technicians. Thus the 1 star rating. read more

last week Sparklight sent a very polite service tech to fix our cable. he replaced a modem that Sparklight hasn't supported for several months, no notice or upgrade of modem when they stopped supporting this equipment, yet they continued to bill us for obsolete equipment. replaced all of the connections. serviced worked as it should for three days. btw, they ramped up the speed at 6am that morning. as of today the issue with several6-7 outages daily, lasting on average for three minutes continues. we routinely have a loss of internet as well. again Sparklight proves it is a second rate company providing poor service to a rural area. The service tech was great, the company is disappointing at best. Sparklight continues to provide substandard service while milking its customers for upgrades that don't work and billing for equipment they do not support. I called to see if Sparklight could send someone to come raise some low wires that were going across my yard and they had a couple of line technicians come over the next day. Andrew and Cody were so kind and helpful and went above and beyond in helping me to clean up some old hanging wires around the house that didn't need to be there. They definitely went above and beyond and I'm very grateful for all that they did. So far it's been excellent service from Sparklight. read more

Was ready to break down and get Internet service for our rarely used second home. The person helping me said they had some service for temporary guests and rattled off something to do with "within 3 months every 12 month period". I asked her 3 times to explain and her response was the same each time. So then I ask so do I call to shut it down and turn back on each time? Since I would have to return the cable modem each time I said no give me the basic package. Well turns out she will have to schedule TWO separate visits and may take more than a few weeks to get it installed? What the? Adios, I'm on to the next. read more

The installer was very good, open to recommendations and did a clean job. Speed is pretty good. Cost is pretty high, several dropouts a day, but overall I'm pretty pleased. Too bad I can't get it at my other house. Centurylink is horribly slow & requires a phone nobody uses, this plan is network only for the same money with high speed data. read more

This company deserves to be sued for their poor customer service and illegal billing. We called to have cable installed for our rental property for an upcoming rental. Sparklight said it would be 2-3 weeks before they could install. We told them no thank you the renters would be gone by then. 3 weeks later they show up when our kids are there and try to install. luckily our children reached us and told them we still are not interested. 3 months later we see our internet bill has doubled. When we ask why, they say its for cable services. We point out that we canceled the install and weren't interested. They say it doesn't matter that we canceled install, the services were still being provided and since we didn't notice for 3 months its our problem. The rep actually said to sue them if we think its worth our time. Avoid this company at all cost! read more

I called in the evening and promptly got a genuine live person who actually knows my neighborhood in Show Low: Andrew Cooper. He walked me through the options, gave good suggestions and signed me up in record time. He also took my plea for quick activation seriously and paved the way. Activation: Last night they couldn't switch me on remotely so they shoehorned me in for a technician visit today. Today the tech showed up on time, did some trouble shooting on our cabling and stayed to ensure I was on line and fully up to speed. Skilled, quick and gracious - and I neglected to ask his name. Bottom Line: When is the last time an encounter with a cable company left you with a grin on your face? Great people - every one! read more

Scheduling new service was very easy doing it online. Issue was trying to get a the cable/internet installed. I never received a call from anyone from the local office to state the time they were coming. I called the main corp office to confirm. My appointment time was 1-5 and no one called me to inform me they were on there way. I was working 10 mins from the house and even left a note with number to call me on the door. At 4 pm i called to check on the service and they said it was canceled no one home. No one called me to say hey we are on our way or we are here. This is our 2nd home and worked remote to get the service installed since we live 3 hrs from Pinetop. Plus on hold for 30 mins to find this out. They rescheduled me for the following week which i have to take the day off to make sure we are here to get the service done. read more

Well it has been over year of apathy (see my other reviews) and guess what... 2 weeks ago Cable One finally showed up with 2 workers and installed the cable (2-3 hours), plugged in the modem in and left! Amazing!! Since this is a rental property, I am using the service from time to time and wouldn't you know it, this is the first week it is going to be used! Oh can it be this easy and can this finally be over? NO!!!! Then I get a call one hour into my guests stay to find out from my guests that WIFI service isn't working. I call Cable One and they tell me it was installed and turned on 2 weeks ago, but not activated and that I will need to do that on Monday (it is Friday night right now). So my renters now have a modem, and a cable to the house, but no service as Cable One never bothered to flip the switch. I guess they thought I simply wanted the cable, a free modem and no service. What a great way to collect free modems. Furthermore, what a way to waste my time and lose $ for their company at the same time. Brilliant business model Cable One! Outstandingly poor all the way around. Let's see how long it takes to get it activated. read more

Their service is horrible. Almost every weekend we are in Pinetop AZ our cable box is not working, it has now been replaced 3 times and they just told us to take it in again. Each time they give us a reconditioned box which fails within the month. read more

I do internet only through them, definitely not the fastest out there but I don't think there is any better. They offer a no contract plan that you can cancel any time which is nice. For the most part we stream vudu and Netflix regularly, sometimes on two tv's at once and as long as we lower the resolution it isn't a problem. I did recently however revive a notice the We went over our data limit and they wanted to raise our plan and our course price so we'll see how that goes. read more

They work with part time customers and we are able to leave and come back the following year and just turn it right back on with no activation fee. Affordable and we are ver satisfied. read more

This company SUCKS! We broke down and decided to get internet after going over 50gb cspire plan, the customer service who helped me on my call told me that our internet would be free for the first six months and that our bill would not change, after receiving our bill the bill DID go up so I called them and asked for my phone call to be pulled and listened too, they will not allow me to hear my conversation but they insist on saying that nothing about free what mentioned which is a TOTAL CROCK OF CRAP. They told me I had to return me modem in order for them to cancel my service, I would not advise anyone to unhook or return anything themselves bc they will say you broke or damaged something I am making a technician come unhook and get the modem. Seeing how that's how I got here after all. It's not my duty to return they can come get themselves. read more

Not happy with the customer service for Cable One. I can't believe we cannot get a copy of a channel line up from them. I went on line and finally was able to get the channel lineup and saved it to bookmarks, but you can't save it and believe me it is difficult to get to online. We received the ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE from the office to the service techs. All around just crap. Direct and Dish TV are looking really good. They left cut pieces of coaxle cable on our floor, gave my wife attitude about doing their frickin job and didn't even stick around to make sure things where done properly I had to finish it when I got home from work.
