They teach a little 1 hour lesson from 8:30 to 9:30 and then open up the dance floor until 2 AM. You can learn some basic steps to get your started but don't expect to know Salsa after one mini lesson. :) As a follow, it was enough to just have a good time that night. The later you come, the more veteran and experienced dancers you'll meet. Many beginners come dance for the first hour or so and then leave. On Saturdays, the Bachata room is also open down the hall. A much smaller room but that's enough. The entrance fee of $20 gets you into both rooms. (Intro lesson is $5 extra). It's great being able to go back & forth between the rooms. There is a bar that you can buy drinks. You are allowed to bring your own water bottles but you have to leave it up at the front entrance because they don't allow you to bring your own bottles in due to the bar. Sometimes they even have performances from dance groups on Saturday nights. They also have practice sessions on weeknights that you can join and check out. With what little dance experience I've had over the last 2 months, Century definitely feels like "the place to be" if you want to dance the night away. Because of that though, Saturday Socials feels more like a show/a place to show off rather than a place to practice so just be prepared for that kind of atmosphere. Parking can be difficult since it's Cap Hill. Most people park at the parking garage down the street. **I'm not going to fault Century for this but this is something for women to take note of - not all men here are as respectful as you'd want them to be. Watch out for their hands and unwanted advances. Sometimes you really have to set your boundaries clearly because some people will def. take advantage of a friendly dancer.**

Project Management Academy - PMA Class #325. Presenting an appreciation to Instructor Gregg D. Richie.

I want to recognize Gregg Richie for the outstanding instruction and support throughout my PMP…read morepreparation journey. Gregg was instrumental in helping me pass my PMP exam on the first attempt. I took his class in February and successfully passed my PMP exam in May 2026. What stood out most was his ability to connect PMP concepts and methodologies to real-world project scenarios. Many of us working in healthcare environments know that day-to-day operations do not always align perfectly with what is outlined in the PMBOK. Gregg did an excellent job bridging that gap and making the material practical, relatable, and easy to apply. His teaching style made complex concepts feel straightforward and approachable. The curriculum was well structured, engaging, and focused on preparing students for real success, not only for the exam itself, but also for applying project management principles in the work environment. Thank you again for creating such a strong learning experience and for being an exceptional instructor. Your guidance made a major impact on my PMP journey.

Richie! The virtual class was a little daunting at first due to the volume of material and the time commitment, but it ended up being a great experience! I highly recommend this course before taking the exam!

I just finished the FEWD part-time course at GA Seattle and had a great experience! I love…read moreeverything about the community. Everyone is very helpful and open to sharing their experiences. The atmosphere is energetic and "neatly appointed", to boot (the Brooklyn, NY wallpaper in the bathroom stalls is always fun). I am a graphic designer who wanted to get Front End Development skills. I checked out other Seattle locations as well as online courses and GA just made sense for me. This FEWD course focused specifically on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. As a designer who was skeptical about learning code, I only wanted to focus on these three languages as a way to introduce myself to the world of code. I also have tried online courses only to be distracted while taking them. I figured being accountable to show up for a class two times a week for 10 weeks was the perfect way to go for me. My instructors (you get two!) were VERY knowledgable AND passionate about what they do. You could ask them anything and they knew the answer. They were very generous with their time and answering questions outside of class as well as during. I can't recommend Steve Minor and Noah Collins enough. One caveat - as a designer whose brain is less wired for code than it is for design, this class moves FAST. Be prepared to put in a lot of time outside of class. It was clear to me that General Assembly is heavily invested in their community and making sure their students get the most out of their experience. Also, they provide a TON of info sessions, workshops, bootcamps - they have a lot to choose from if you are looking to get involved in the tech community and the Seattle community in general. Check it out!

I had been wanting to try Prana for awhile but just hadn't gotten up the nerve. I'm so out of shape and touchy my toes is even hard haha. I came in last week for my first class and Prana and was sold. I conversed with Traci, the owner, via Facebook messenger first and she was so kind and so helpful. It's not surprising that my experience in Prana was equally as wonderful. They've made adjustments for COVID but managed to keep an intimate, fun feel. So far I've had three different instructors. They've all been unique and fabulous. Add in the fact that they have additional classes like spinning, barre, step, etc -- it is a winning combo. They also offer private training classes and I'll be doing those soon. I have felt comfortable to do what I could and never pushed to hard but just hard enough. And after a week I can already do more than I could when I started!!!! I am so excited to be a part of the Prana family. I highly encourage anyone interested to take the plunge -- no matter your fitness or ability level!

The school is located in a busy, high-traffic part of South Lake Union. There's a paid parking lot across the street, but it was also easy to get to by bus. The building is fairly large, with several classrooms and conference rooms. It's pretty minimalist, but the letterpresses and type trays are cool and fun to look at, and the hallways display interesting student work and large-scale steamroller prints from the annual Steamroller Smackdown competition they run. They also sell letterpress cards made in-house, with some cute designs. Our training was from 9-4, and while I knew they were providing lunch, it was a nice surprise that they also offered breakfast: bagels, donuts, coffee and fruit. They also had an excellent snack bar for grazing throughout the day, with chips, trail mix, fruit snacks and cookies, plus coffee and tea. The bathrooms were conveniently located, small but clean and well-maintained throughout the day. There were several other events running at the same time, but the facilities were well maintained all day long. Our presenters were an in-house instructor and a guest speaker, and they did a good job keeping things interesting over a long day, with videos and activities to break up the speaking. That said, there were some downsides. Our group of about 50 was really too big to fit, even in the largest room, and the people on the edges of the room had a hard time seeing the monitors. The large meeting room is almost all floor-to-ceiling windows, and even with the blinds drawn, there was a lot of glare; combined with a slideshow that was white text on a light blue background, it was very difficult to see -- which wasn't ideal, since our activities required seeing what was on-screen. The street outside was high-traffic, including frequent buses, and there was some sort of construction project going on in the parking lot that was quite loud and distracting. Most of this, I think, can be chalked up to a group that was too big. However, we fell behind almost as soon as the training began, which threw the schedule off -- we didn't get a break until after 11. Lunch was scheduled for 1, which felt kind of late, though at least we had the snack buffet to work on! Overall, I liked the facility, and most of the issues we had came from being too large of a group for the room we were in. They offer letterpress and hand-lettering classes for individuals, and I'd really like to come back and try one of those. If you're looking for graphic design or printing classes in the SLU area, do check out the School of Visual Concepts.
